Awesome location (everything walkable and a good bus connection), comfy bed, friendly and helpful front desk. I recommend a 1-2 day stay. Price is fair. Okay for a hostel.
Room is clean even though not in the detail (behind bed / lockers). Awesome AC that cools down the room within minutes.
The showers are NOT as displayed on Expedia (see pictures).They are a bit gross but cleaned daily so no hairs / paper towels on the floor after they cleaned.
I stayed at the HI Vancouver and expected the brand to align with a certain standard but I feel like it’s an old building that needs renovation so the people who work there can only do so much.
There was a bachelorette party in the back when I stayed, so be aware that their quiet time is 12am. Not the hotels fault and earplugs are always a good idea (also for purchase at the reception).
For woman:
I highly recommend staying in a female dorm.
I recommend crossing the street by “the beach house”, not on the chevron side.
I felt safe for the time I stayed there.

Nothing. To close to highway! Would not give back full unused cost due to checking out early!
