Designed by FONDAMENTA, Villa FO is nestled between the Iblei Mountains and the sea. It unfolds in an irregular form that winds its way among the rocks of this unique agricultural landscape. It emerges from the landscape, responds to it, and becomes one with it, forging an intimate yet serene connection.
Guests will discover that the built environment and nature merge in a continuous dialogue, creating a respectful symbiosis. One can expect to spend more time experiencing the outdoor space than the indoor one. The property is nestled atop a hill, featuring private caves and design elements that allow one to fully immerse oneself in the land. At sunrise and sunset, the sweeping views of the sea, the mountains, and the Noto Cathedral take on a dreamlike quality.
The single-story space is divided into two staggered levels, clearly distinguishing the sleeping area from the living area, partly through its orientation.
The walls and floors are made of Noto stone, a local rock with a golden-yellow hue used to rebuild the late Baroque cities of eastern Sicily.
The stone cladding in the bathrooms, including the shelves, is made of Modica stone, another native Val di Noto stone, but this time found in the rural areas of the Ibleo Plateau.
