This is the "sister" (same owner) vacation rental to the 4.9 rated VRBO vacation rental, the Sassy Seahorse on Anna Maria Island FL, allowing guests to have the "best of both worlds:" beaches and mountains. At 3000 ft. elevation in the Smoky Mountains, this large four bedroom, three bath plus den/office mountain home has panoramic views of majestic forests and mountains from two 40 ft. decks; extensive walking trails; and an 11 ft.² gazebo for entertaining. Its jacuzzi, fire pit, and pool table give you the feeling that it’s more like a resort than a rental. Unlike many mountain homes, it is only 15 minutes from shopping, restaurants, and major grocery stores. Asheville, North Carolina and the Biltmore Home are only a 40 minute drive. Sit back in your family room, warm yourself in front of the gas fireplace or outside in the Jacuzzi, and take in the beautiful views and sounds that surround you in nature. You will enjoy the convenience of its location on the shoulder of Purchase Knob, only a few miles south of the Smoky Mountain National Park and Cataloochi Ski Resort. Unlike Asheville, temperatures seldom exceed 85 degrees in the summer. Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate over 5 acres of pristine forests and trails associated with the property. Children will enjoy the whimsical decor both in and outside the home. They'll also enjoy the game room and entertainment area on the lower level that has the jacuzzi, pool table, and television room. The Swag and newly renovated Cataloochee Resort, with horseback riding, snow skiing, and world class dining are only 20 minutes away in Maggie Valley. Even closer are the many recreational activities for children and adults at Lake Junaluska that include golfing, putt putt, boat rides, tennis, pickleball, swimming, and one of the most beautiful 3 1/2 mile walking trails in North Carolina, highlighted by the Lake Junaluska "Rose Walk."
