About this house rental
Beds -N- Sheds owners Joe and Karen Vander Laan created their business to share their love of the Iowa Great Lakes area with others.
"We wanted to offer a place where people could come and relax, rest and restore - and also to have fun enjoying the amenities of the Lakes area... We want others to come and enjoy the lakes like we do."
Joe grew up camping in Okoboji and couldn't get moved to the area fast enough. He studied business administration at Iowa Lakes in Estherville and has been building homes for 30 years in the Okoboji region.
Karen grew up in Minnesota and visited the Lakes area as a kid with her family. She is retired after 27 years selling real estate.
Joe and Karen met 30 years ago and made their home in the Spirit Lake area. They have 2 children and look forward to spending their retirement years doing God's work and sharing their love of the Lakes with others through this business.

We enjoyed our stay. We rode our bikes around the lakes and it’s only about half mile from the trail. We only stayed a weekend but it is roomy and has everything you need for a longer stay.

We had a great Fourth of July stay. The owners are so nice and very accommodating.

Karen met us when we arrived, explained the lay of the land and gave us hints on local amenities and routes.

Stay was great, when I booked it had said pets were allowed, but then it had changed to service animals. Owner was nice to let us keep our mini Snauzer there with us!! Highly recommend
