The trail to the treehouse is a meandering path through the woods from the parking area. This trail includes 22 rustic steps and is a combination of mulch and pebbles which is not conducive to rolling luggage.

Escape to a magical treehouse nestled among the hemlocks, where you can fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the waterfall below and wake to birdsong echoing through the forest. Perfect for anniversaries, honeymoons, engagements, surprise proposals, birthdays, or simply a chance to reconnect, this enchanting retreat invites you to slow down and savor time together.

Spend your evenings soaking in the hot tub on the deck below the treehouse, listening to the rushing water and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the mountains. Here, nature provides the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories and special moments.

The space
This 330 sq. ft. treehouse has a loft, main level and a deck beneath. The loft features a king size bed a 32" Roku TV (Netflix and wi-fi included). The main level includes a living area with a queen size pull-out bed, kitchen with an apartment-size refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, and a single burner cooktop. The kitchen also includes a coffee maker, tea kettle, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, blender, coffee, creamer and sugar. The upper deck overlooking the waterfall features a grill, bistro table and chairs. The lower deck features an outside dining area, two chair hammocks and a 3-person hot tub which is the perfect way to finish off your hike up to the Appalachian trail. The deck area also includes an outdoor shower.

The beautiful detached ground-level bathroom features a shower, sink, incinerating toilet, bath towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a hair dryer.

Just a few things to know to make your stay better:

The drinking water is delicious! We have a 500 ft deep spring well, the water is pure (better than bottled).

There is a trail to the waterfall that is accessed off the driveway by the "waterfall" sign. The trail is a combination of stair steps, platforms, and natural trail. This section is rocky and may be muddy so wear sturdy shoes.

Please, if exploring the property, keep your eye out for poison ivy. There is an area where we have a no trespassing sign (we call this poison valley)

The deck can be slippery when wet.

There is a trash box in the parking area. It is very important to re-attach the latches after placing your trash in the box to keep the bears out.

The treehouse has no curtains or sheer curtains we have left eye mask for you to use if the light bothers you.

Please rinse off before using the hot tub.

Next to the trash can in the treehouse is a bin for recycling, join us in staying green! Please rinse and place all can's, glass, cardboard and plastic in this bin.

Please use hot pads if placing any hot or warm dishes on all surfaces.

The single burner hot plate is induction. You will need to place your pan on the surface before you turn the burner on.

The hot tub towels (aqua blue) are located in the desk/ dresser under the window in the 2nd drawer.

This is a small space. The air conditioner works really well, if you are leaving the property for a few hours please turn off the air conditioner. Please don't run the A.C. with the windows open.

If using the outdoor shower (hot is cold- cold is hot) the handle is backwards.

If something breaks, if you run out of toilet paper or paper towels, liners etc. Please let us know so we can fix or replace it immediately.

If you need towels for a day trip, please don't take the treehouse towels. We are happy to bring you some beach towels, just let us know.

Do not lock the bottom lock on the front door. (You will lock yourself out)

Please turn off all outside lights when not in use.

Food City in Elizabethton (13.4 miles).

Wanda was a brilliant hostess! She took care of every need as I booked a surprise honeymoon weekend for my daughter. They met them at the property to welcome them and be sure that everything was as they needed it to be. They even delivered a deluxe charcuterie board to the patio for them the following day. Every detail was attended to. Highly recommend!

The sign says - This Must be The Place. It is all true. With the laurel blanketing the surroundings, the cozy quaint tree house looks as if it belongs there. With an unmatched coziness, and everything you need in a beautiful mountain environment, our stay was amazing. Wanda and Shelley were helpful and gracious. They offered help when needed and also gave us plenty of privacy, we also took many of their suggestions regarding hikes, dining out, etc. If you want to truly “unplug” and escape into the quiet of the woods in luxurious accommodations a this is it!

Very clean home, so pet friendly, incredible hosts, great overall experience. This is a tree house with a detached bathroom, ladder to the bed, and semi aggressive drive up a gravel road. If you’re good with all of that, fully recommend. The tree house was magical and the waterfall off the front porch added to the ambiance. It was so peaceful and quiet. We spent most of our time here outside in the hot tub, the freshly laundered hammock chairs, and the porch. The outdoor shower is also a great add in the remote place! The hosts couldn’t have been better. Great communication to make sure we had everything we needed and our stay was perfect. They were kind people and willing to share some hiking and destination recommendations. My wife and I will 100% return in the future!
