We loved this place! The house has been built 50 years ago as a replica of traditional Japanese houses, so it’s cozy but also comfortable. The layout of the rooms is beautiful and you’re surrounded by nature, in the night you can also see so many stars and fireflies they told us, if you go in the right period. The best part was the meals, you have a normal Japanese breakfast with rice and raw egg with fish (which was tasty! Or boiled egg if you prefer). And the dinners were delicious, they even bring it to the place so you can enjoy it on your own in the beautiful house.
There’s really nothing we didn’t like. I’d only mention that there is a part of the road difficult to drive through to get there, but the staff is so well prepared and will send you links of the safest roads to take from any direction. The host was particularly kind and welcoming, spoke perfect English with us and he prepares a recommendation of places to go to based on your preference. Really thank you for everything!

The staff (especially the gentleman who served us dinner and breakfast) were friendly and accommodating. The rain meant we couldn't enjoy the facilities to the max but we really enjoyed the chance to have a go on the ride-on train! We were the only ones staying there on our night so we got to use the bathhouse as a family. Delicious traditional dinner and breakfast.

This is an unusual property as it is probably aimed more at groups. It was a school and has been run as a community project to counter rural depopulation. We were the only guests at the time but the staff are warm and welcoming and do their very best to please you. The food is outstanding. The room is comfortable. We were happy to have stayed in the project.
It was a school so feel institutional which is to be expected.
