River Dunes is uniquely located on a 1,324 acre peninsula near the town of Oriental, North Carolina. Situated on the Neuse River where it meets the Pamlico Sound, the community’s waterfront location provides deep-water access to the nearby Intracoastal Waterway, coastal towns, cruising destinations and anchorages.

for some feedback- no extra kleenex in the rental. bath towels were tiny but grateful there were extraswish there had been more pool towelswish there were two showers, not a tub and shower

We spent three unforgettable nights at River Dunes and already wish we could go back. The location is remote in the best way. It is peaceful, scenic, and perfect for unwinding. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the warm hospitality of the staff to the incredible food that made each meal feel like a treat. It’s rare to find a place that feels both luxurious and deeply comforting, but River Dunes nailed it. We left feeling grateful, and just a little bit heartbroken to say goodbye.

Nice little cottage, on a lovely property. But the roof leaked into the bedroom and on to the bed downstairs. Tough to ignore when it rained all weekend. Hope it’s fixed for the next group!
