I liked everything about The Star Guesthouse, welcoming staff, our care taker Isaac offered himself to us in everything we needed, clean, comfortable and a space in our family room was 👌 since we were a group of 4.

Property is clean and has a lot of potential to be the best
Lots of small maintenance things not working leading to inconvenience and underwhelming experience.
Amongst rooms booked there was suppose to be a family room. We could not access it due to Geyser problem. We were given an extra room we thought it’s a good service recovery.
When we arrived back at the guest house at night the gate remote didn’t work. We called and only then we were told that the gate was on manual. Nothing wrong if experiencing challenges just be honest about it. Don’t give us remotes when you know your gate is on manual.
Two of the rooms had light bulbs that were not turning on and there was nothing done as they could only attend to it the next day. ( when we gone)
The shower in one of the rooms was not operational leading to the two girls using my room to shower basically three us of had to use one room.
I wasn’t gonna mention it but the house keeping ladies kept on reminding us that we need to be aware about check out times. ( their disposition did not allow me to explain the shower challenges in one of the rooms)
The staff got into one of the rooms upstairs and started cleaning whilst there were occupants.
Property good but housekeeping staff very aloof as they were more concerned about keeping on reminding us about check out times though we were still within time.
Besides we were sharing facilities as the ones provided were not working.
I feel sorry for the owners. By the way the male staff who deals with maintenance is very polite but looks disempowered
