Bluegill Lakehouse is a fantastically remodeled Lake Lure lakefront home with a modern touch and a well-appointed interior. It is ideal for a romantic getaway or just a quiet, peaceful escape. This home is 1.7 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 2.5 miles to the Chimney Rock State Park entrance, and 17 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), home to this year's World Equestrian Games!
Upon entering, there is a wonderfully crisp, clean feel as you walk through a nice living area and kitchen that open to a large covered screened porch with a dining table and beautiful lake views!
There is a king-size bed in one bedroom and two queen beds in the second bedroom. There is a full bath off the living area between the two bedrooms. The lower level offers another full bath and bedroom with two bunks, with a twin on top and a full on the bottom!
The lakeside dock is a great place to sit and dangle your feet in the water, or to bring your boat for use on the lake (contact Lake Lure for boating regulations and permits). This home does have a canoe and two kayaks for your use.
Lake Lure Beauty Year-Round
This home is perfect for every season. The bushes and trees on the shady, wooded lot and along the long drive will begin to fill with leaves in spring. Summer weather in the area is great most of the time. Autumn brings plenty of visitors to the area for the extraordinary colors. They are even more beautiful when reflected on the lake. With the absence of leaves on the trees in winter, you will see entirely new landscapes. Enjoy the warmth of the outdoor heat lamp during the colder months.

Bluegill Lakehouse overlooks Lake Lure and offers access to It, ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. Lake Lure Beach is just a few minutes from the home. Several excellent golf courses are nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.
This beautiful home is centrally located, just 6 minutes from Chimney Rock Village and State Park. The iconic Chimney Rock (for which the area was named) was featured in Arthur Frommer`s Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains.
It is only 15 minutes from Bat Cave, 35 minutes from Hendersonville, 50 minutes from Asheville, and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Perfect stay right on Lake Lure!

We loved our time on the water and the ease of getting our kayaks in and out of the water while our mother enjoyed her time reading outdoors, but bug free, on the screened in porch. The layout was perfect for us since there were only a few steps for my mom (in her 80's) to get in and out of the house and then the screened porch/kitchen/living room/bathroom and her bedroom were all on the main level. We love wild life and were thrilled to see a heron, a beaver, ducks, geese and squirrels all from our "home". Out on the lake we saw more ducks and an eagle. The kitchen had a nice, spacious feel. The pull out drawers in the pantry were AWESOME! We were able to store all of our potatoes/tomatoes/onions etc on one drawer, snacks on another, dry goods like spices, flour, sugar etc on another it was all organized and easy to find things because you could pull the drawer out. Everything in the home was clean and in working order. Our last lake rental had horrible septic issues but we had no problem at all here. As others have mentioned, the driveway is steep and can be intimidating but after our first drive down, it was all good. We were thankful for the extra "pulloff" space at the top of the drive. It made a world of difference just knowing that it was there and you don't have to pull out right into traffic. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful stay!
