Relax with the whole family at this beautiful, peaceful home in Cortez. This three bed, two full bath home is perfect for families. Chappell Farms Stay is centrally located on a working wheat and pinto bean farm, with 360° views of mountains and farm land. While your stay will feel remote, you won’t be far from hiking, lakes, mountains, trails, slopes, and parks. One mile from sand canyon, 20 miles from mesa verde, 60 miles from telluride, 2 hours from Moab.

This was a very nicely appointed home close to Cortez but far enough away to make you feel you were in the middle of nowhere. The listing was accurate and the kitchen well stocked. I wouldn't say it was the cleanest home I've stayed in. There were cobwebs over the stove, refrigerator, and kitchen window above the sink. The bathroom faucet had dried toothpaste all around it, and the top bathroom drawer was quite dirty with someone's spilled products all inside it. There was also an overwhelming bad odor throughout the house we thought was coming from the locked laundry room, but we later decided it was coming from outside (possibly a septic tank issue). We did inform the host of the odor, but there was nothing to be done about it at the time.

This place was amazing! We loved our stay. Highly recommend this house if you're in the area. Great communication. Nice and quiet too! And we cleaned out the Tallow body butter she makes and sells there!! Had to ask for more. It's a must have for the dry air! Thanks for being such a great host!

The farm area surrounding the VRBO is gorgeous so a little sad that the VRBO is tucked back in some ugly juniper (?) trees with no view nor anywhere to sit outside and enjoy. The drive to Cortez took less time than I thought and again it was nice seeing the fields getting ready. No black out curtains on the VRBO so expect to wake with the sunrise which could be good or bad. Some windows/sliders had no curtains and most were shear ones. I would recommend the host to have marked dispensers for soap, shampoo, and conditioners. We had to buy some in Cortez which is not typical with a VRBO. There were a few other minor issues but overall it worked for our 3 night stay and Mesa Verde was great.

The home was cute and spacious. It was nice to have two bathrooms with the number of people we had in our group. We didn't have access to any cleaning supplies so we weren't able to sweep or clean up during our stay. We had to purchase toilet paper for fear of running out as we were only provided one extra roll. There was spoiled milk in the fridge and food in the drain from the previous guests upon our arrival. Overall the place was nice and comfortable, we just didn't have some of the things we needed that we thought would be a part of the stay (i.e. toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc.). We left a day early rather than have to run to the store again.
