About this house rental
This vacation home, which comes from a former barn next to an old manor house, is located just 18 km from Florence and has undergone various transformations from the 15th century. The property is located in a quiet area, the road ends at the accommodation and only the house next to the barn is occupied by the family that takes care of the maintenance of the property. The house enjoys good independence with views of the surrounding hills. The charming city of Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and rich in art, will fascinate you with its majestic Duomo, the bell tower of Giotto, the masterpieces of the Uffizi Gallery, the beautiful Ponte Vecchio, the shopping streets and the rock events in summer. The access road (about 900 m) is unpaved in an uneven section and not suitable for low and sports cars. Arrivals exclusively 5 - 8 pm. Departures no later than 9 am.

The property and its surroundings were beautiful. It is set far off the beaten path, and you must have a vehicle with high ground clearance (SUV) to reach it. The hosts were charming and friendly, although communication was challenging because we don’t speak Italian. We saw a porcupine and a hedgehog within the first 24 hours, and brown stink bugs (an invasive species) inside the house constantly. The location was great for day trips exploring almost all of Tuscany, and coming back every day was a pleasure. Really, the only negative was the old and uncomfortable sofa downstairs, not a terrible balance for all the good.
