Welcome to VILLA ARAGON — your private tropical oasis in Playa Negra Heights, Puerto Viejo. This beautifully appointed property is nestled in a quiet, gated courtyard surrounded by lush gardens and fruit trees. Relax by your own pool, enjoy the sounds of nature, or take a peaceful stroll down the private trail that leads directly to the beach.
Ideally located near top dining, shopping, and nightlife, VILLA ARAGON offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience for a relaxing stay away from home.
Inside VILLA ARAGON, a sliding glass door effortlessly connects the dining area to the lush garden and inviting pool, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. The villa features a fully equipped kitchen, a formal dining table for eight, and a cozy living room complete with A/C, a flat-screen TV, cable, Wi-Fi, and a selection of board games for your enjoyment. The minimalist, colonial-inspired open-floor layout offers a stylish and functional space perfect for entertaining—whether you’re sharing pizza with friends or preparing a Costa Rican-inspired feast.
For your comfort, the villa includes three spacious bedrooms, each with A/C, ample closet space, large windows, and plenty of natural light. The master bedroom boasts an en-suite bathroom with an all-glass shower and a soaking tub. The two additional deluxe bedrooms feature king-size beds and share a hall bathroom.
For groups of more than six guests, we offer flexible sleeping arrangements: either convert the indoor terrace into a semi-private room with curtains and A/C, or opt to add twin-size beds to the existing bedrooms—allowing you to keep the terrace as a shared living space.
Our dedicated staff is on hand throughout your stay to ensure everything runs smoothly, including maintenance of the pool and garden areas.
VILLA ARAGON also provides secure parking for up to three vehicles and is wheelchair accessible (just ask us for a ramp for easy entry), ensuring comfort and convenience for all guests.
Whether you're planning a romantic escape, wellness retreat, friends’ getaway, or family vacation, the villa offers a peaceful and versatile setting. A variety of on-site wellness services and activities are available, including yoga, massage therapy, surf lessons, salsa classes, live music, and private chef experiences. Just ask, we’re happy to help you plan something special!
Guests will have exclusive access to the entire villa and its outdoor areas. This includes the terrace with an outdoor pool, gazebo, lounge chairs, hammock, portable barbecue station, tropical gardens with fruit trees, and a private natural trail that leads directly to the sea.
For added convenience, we offer a laundry service so our guests don’t have to worry about doing laundry during their vacation. We will leave a basket inside the house where you can place any clothing you’d like washed. Just let us know one day in advance so we can coordinate the service. Please note that the laundry area is not available for direct guest use.
You can relax by the pool, enjoy the garden, or take a walk along the nearby beaches surrounded by lush nature. Everything has been thoughtfully designed to offer an authentic, private, and comfortable Caribbean experience.

VILLA ARAGÓN is directly managed by its owners, Martha, Alejandra, and Ricardo, who will be available before and during your stay to answer any questions. They will ensure that you have all the necessary information for a smooth arrival and a comfortable experience. Additionally, they offer a personalized concierge service to help coordinate activities, transportation, wellness services, and more, according to your needs. They will always be available by message or call to assist you with anything you may need, while respecting your privacy at all times.

Once the reservation is confirmed, we will send the house rules so you can review them before arrival and follow them during your stay. It’s important that the main guest shares these rules with the entire group to ensure there are no surprises for anyone.
The pool is cleaned two to three times a week. We make sure to clean it during the early hours of the day to avoid disturbing our guests’ peace. If for any reason you see maintenance staff, don’t worry—they are there to ensure the pool remains spotless throughout your stay.
It is essential that guests keep the main gate closed at all times, even if they believe they will be leaving soon. This is for the safety of everyone during your stay, so please make sure to keep the gate closed at all times.
Check-in is personalized, as we love to welcome you in person. However, if guests are planning to arrive very late, we will provide clear instructions on how to proceed with check-in in those cases.

My family of 5 stayed here for four days in mid-June. The only regret we have is that we didn't stay here longer!! Communication was great, chech-in was seamless. We arrived when it was dark, and didn't have any issues. We were able to park two SUVs in the driveway. A third car would not fit. This home is enclosed in a 13-15 foot fence around the property. It felt extremely safe. The backyard looks like something straight out of a magazine!! We found 4 iguanas in the trees on the property, and had all sorts of birds visit. Living so close to the jungle you also have some insect critters inside the house. To access the beach it's about a 7-10 min walk. You go out the sliding gate, turn right. When the road T's, turn left. About 15 feet to the right is a private gate. The walk takes you through super swampy parts.DO NOT stay on the beach past sunset. A local warned us that people get robbed. Remember, Costa Rica gets dark around 6 pm year round.The beach is beautiful, but not for swimming. The waves are crazy strong with riptides.There was one bath towel per person. More would have been nice. Beds are a little stiff, but that seems to be the norm in this country.The kitchen is well-stocked.We booked 3 massages through our host and they came to us at Villa Arragon. It was amazing!! Highly recommend going to The Sloth Sanctuary, The Jaguar Rescue Center, and snorkeling. We had such an incredible and memorable time. Thank you!!

Everything about this house, the location, the gardens, and the pool are perfection. I have rented many homes over the years and my entire group agreed that this property is one of our favorites of all time. The pictures do not do it justice. Don’t waiver, just book it!!!

We spent one week at Villa Aragon and it was amazing. Having the private pool was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Having air conditioning throughout the home was a huge bonus. The location works great as a home base for exploring the Caribbean Side of Costa Rica from Tortuguero National Park, Cahuita National Park, Gandoca-Manzanillo National Refuge and all the awesome beaches in between. We saw howler monkeys, poison dart frog, toucans and parrots right at the property. We saw sloths, spider monkeys, mackaws and lots of other wildlife on this vacation. The Caribbean side of Costa Rica and especially Villa Aragon did not disappoint. We would come back in a heartbeat and hope to do so.
