This place was a dream! The cabin was very clean and made us feel comfortable. Unlike hotel pictures, the cabin was just as the pictures illustrate, beautiful! It is evident that the host cares about your stay, because everything is meticulous and considerately set about. Make no mistake, this is a luxury cabin. We are so happy to have made the choice to stay here. The only down side was having to leave. Thank you!!!
Driveway/parking is gravel. (Better than dirt) The roads to the cabin is hilly and windy but it’s all paved. Just be careful as there is one stop sign that is hidden at (keener/midway creek rd.) Not really a dislike but more a caution for navigating. Also - Drive slow as there are young deer all around.

I loved everything about my stay at Gentle Ben's Chalet!! I walked in to find a welcome area of breakfast bars, a Gentle Ben's coffee mug gift, and a lovely card from a local artist. The coffee/tea area was very well equipped (including various teas, coffees, and an Italian espresso maker and espresso, my faves). The kitchen has all of the things one might need to cook, as I stayed in a few nights and made various dishes. The first night I realized I forgot a personal item, and I checked the "forgot something?" basket and was able to avoid running to town to obtain it. Kudos for that basket! I should note that a run to town is only five minutes away, all on paved roads (not always the case in Murphy), but it does not feel like you are near town. The entire house was extremely clean, and (as the pictures for the listing show) it is very well appointed. What the pictures do not show is how wonderfully comfortable the bed is in the loft. I haven't slept 9 hours a night for a long time, and I did for five of my seven nights at Gentle Ben's Chalet. Sitting on the porch was a delight the area is quiet and I heard a lot of birds. Other wildlife was in the area, including bunnies and deer. The Murphy River Walk is wonderful, as is the Valley River Brewery (try the pizza!), and Buck Bald Brewery. Short trips to Blairsville (check out the host recommended Living Water Winery), Hayesville, and elsewhere provided interesting historic downtown areas and scenery. I traveled with my dog, and Gentle Ben's is dog friendly, with doggie towels and beds available. He also much enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching/napping with nature. Finally, I reached out to the host and Julie was incredibly responsive. This was my fourth trip to Murphy, and it was my most restful and enjoyable!!!
As noted above, I loved everything about my stay at Gentle Ben's Chalet, and I much look forward to future trips to the cabin. If I had one suggestion for an improvement, it would be that there is a hot tub on site. However, Julie let me know that this amenity is coming this fall. I can't wait to return!

The cabin was well stocked with everything was so clean and comfortable!! This was easily one of the best cabins we have ever had the pleasure of staying in… the host truly thought of everything and even had a “just in case” box full of all the necessities! And goodies for our fur baby. The property was easy to find… We will absolutely be back!! 😊
There was nothing we didn’t like… it was top to bottom wonderful!!
