Beautiful location, plenty of room to accommodate our party and close to where our family live
Unfortunately the kitchen wasn’t very well equipped, the shower head in the upstairs bathroom leaked and also caused water to leak downstairs, I informed the owners but they didn’t do anything about it and told me to point the shower head away from the wall so that water didn’t leak downstairs.
Also the air conditioner upstairs leaked water, again I informed the owner but they didn’t do anything about it. We just had to put towels down on the floor and keep my two year old daughter away from it otherwise she could’ve slipped on the floor.
The pool, whilst it looks stunning definitely needs maintenance - we understand that the ash from Etna during our stay was causing a lot of problems however in this situation if you have to clean the pool twice a day then that is what has to be done if you are providing a facility like this. It becomes the owners responsibility to provide all of this things as fit for use.
The irony of being told to shower before entering the pool is a bit insulting considering the daily condition of the pool.
The outdoor shower didn’t have much room to use it because it was surrounded by two hedges which was full of flies and wasps, my niece and nephew only 11 and 14 were too scared to go near it.
I noticed CCTV cameras facing the pool area and on the rear veranda - we weren’t made aware of this and by Italian law there should be signs up informing the occupants that CCTV is in use and being recorded.
The building also had unfinished pieces - for example there is an electrical socket upstairs partly off the wall where a child could potentially place there fingers inside and be electrocuted.
