The front desk person was very friendly. She accommodated us to check in an hour early so that was helpful! She also made recommendations for hikes in the area and places to eat. The units were colorful and pleasant to look at. There was an outside area to sit and relax. We didn't take advantage of it, but it was nice to have.
The door to the room had gaps. There was no screen on the window in the bathroom. Only one of the four pillows was comfortable. The others were sooooo firm. There were accent pillows and those can't really be sanitized, so that's kind of unnecessary and gross. There is a standard height table, but the chairs for the table are pub-table height so that made it awkward to sit at the table.

Great location! The motel is a classic motor court with beautifully maintained cottages. The owner/manager was very helpful, letting us know about waterfall hikes. Our only complaint was that the mattresses were too soft and broken down, an easily-remedied defect. The motel and the individual rooms have character, and are not a bland modern motel style. It takes a lot of effort to maintain an older property such as this, and we commend the owner. The setting is lovely, surrounded by trees, and conveniently located in Dunsmuir.

loved the quaint look of the place. No complaints about the location. Except you do have to drive into Dunsmuir unless you want to eat at the Travelodge diner, which is right across the road.
I could’ve overlooked all the other small problems, but the original lumpy carpet covered over by a newer ill fitting carpet was simply unacceptable. I was afraid to pick up the new carpet and look underneath for fear of mushrooms growing or mold because it was so lumpy. I decided to just wear my shoes unless I was in or on the bed. The bathroom had a moldy shower curtain smell. The bed was comfortable enough but borderline probably need to replace that mattress soon. I know this is a low price Motel and I’m not expecting the Ritz but the level of disrepair from peeling paint in the bathroom to outlets that won’t hold the plug in place, making it almost impossible to charge your phone. I almost tripped and fell multiple times where that cover up carpet was laid over the other piece and the trip hazard was real.
