Beautiful house but not quite and dont go there without a 4 wheel drive car

The house itself was very pretty. But gave a bit of cabin in the woods horror movie vibe. There is a big room for kids downstairs. Generally well equipped and well maintained house. You can kind of see the river through the trees.

The road up to the house is and impossible steel road. With gravel and giant holes. The owner should really do something about it as its not really safe to go up and down on, especially at night or in the rain. Also we expected a nice and quite place as its in the middle of the woods but ended up listening to a constant loud buzzing from the interstate . ( it was so much louder then you'd think it could be that far away. I guess the river carries the sound )

Awful!! I would not recommend anyone to rent.

Once we got up the driveway and had we stayed, the cabin looked generally clean and looked very comfortable. It looked well equipped for a stay and the furnishings seemed to be well maintained. Again, I write "looked" and "seemed" because we left the property after being there 5 hours.

First, I did not like that the three outside cameras were used as surveillance. Received an email 30 minutes after arriving indicating that 10-12 guests were on the property and not the five that were indicated in the booking. It was unsettling that we could be watched. Explained that we all came in a van, but five were staying with nearby relatives, and the three they saw walked up the driveway came to pick them up-- car could not get up the steep gravel and dirt driveway. Secondly, the driveway is ridiculously steep, made of dirt and gravel, with large bumpy ruts in it. It was nearly impossible to ascend and scary to descend-- got stuck several times and almost flipped our rental passenger van gunning it up the driveway, while sliding down the gravel portion of the driveway. It was really unsafe to navigate. I was annoyed that we were being watched and did not want to put my family in danger attempting to go up and down the driveway. We packed up and left the property after 5 hours and booked nearby hotels for the rest of our stay. Just an awful experience. The rental host or their proxies seemed to not care about my concerns and really should let guests know they are being watched for "safety and security" purposes. Also let them know that the driveway is more than "remember that the drive up to the cabin is steep and rugged. An all-wheel-drive vehicle is strongly recommended! Drive all the way up WITHOUT STOPPING". This was not in the property description on Booking.com, but came in a separate email a day before our arrival. If I had known this information, then I would never have booked this property.
