The home I arrived at is a very nice house in a good neighborhood. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and well supplied with toiletries. I did get a good night of sleep after a long day. However...
The location I stayed at was not the address listed and advertised. This was somewhat of a red flag. Upon arrival at the "wrong address" I was a little apprehensive, and did wonder for a minute if this could be a bad situation in the making.
This location did not provide the master bedroom with attached porch or sun room as advertised. This was a very disappointing bait and switch, as I was looking forward to using to those amenities.
When I asked about the location difference, he said the other location was occupied by younger people, and that I would have more quiet and privacy at this second location. While that sentiment is appreciated, he could and should have advised me of all of this at the time of booking and certainly prior to my arrival. We did exchange several messages between booking and my arrival. I acknowledge that I should have questioned his direction to come to a different address.
I was kind of in a pinch to find a reasonablely priced room on short notice, and by the time I arrived I was too tired to search for another. Thankfully it turned out okay.
Also, the quiet time rule at 930 pm was a bit early for me. I went out to grab dinner, and ate it in the sitting area outside the house. He said the door was unlocked, but when I tried to get in, at 934, it was locked. This was my first ever short stay with the host also in house. I will continue to avoid that dynamic in the future.
