The room is just like the pictures, and the mattress is really comfortable. The location is also great - there are dog buses heading in three different directions right outside

We had a private twin room. Staff were nice and jumped to fix a minor issue for me without me needing to ask.
The futons were comfy and the room had good aircon. Location is good- close to nice restaurants and JR station. Enough space to lay out suitcases which doesn’t seem too common in Japan. Room and shower/toilet were clean.
It really did feel like staying in someone’s house while they were still living in it more than other guesthouses, but for the price that’s fair.
The shower/sink area wasn’t very private. Only the shower door and a curtain separated it from the main kitchen area. A actual door with a lock would be nicer.
The kitchen could be a bit cleaner and the strong smell of cooking travelled to the bedrooms even with the doors closed.

The room is spacious and comfortable enough for two people (we didn’t have suitcases only backpacks), we stayed two nights. The beds are comfortable. it’s an old house so don’t expect full silence but there is a strict rule of no noise after 10pm, which is great.
However a little curtain to cover the opening on the bedroom door panel should be added because all the lights from the corridor gets in and makes it difficult to sleep since it’s so bright.
There is key to the bedroom door so that your belongings are safe. They provide sleepers and towel (a bit old but better than nothing).
The owner is very lovely and upgraded us to a room with balcony without us asking for it and didn’t make us pay more.
It really wasn’t clean at all. Dust, dirt and long hairs everywhere. The closet in the room cannot be used, we are asked to hang our clothes and towel on a shabby clothes-hanger in the balcony, but the balcony is so dirty that i wouldn’t hang anything there.
The shower is full of mold everywhere (the shower curtain, the floor itself, the shelves..), the wash basin is dirty, there is clutter everywhere on it and around it, the floor hasn’t been vacuumed in ages it’s quite obvious.
The toilets were clean enough though; at least. We didn’t use the washing machine so I cannot say anything about that.
The kitchen is impossible to use since it’s full of stuffs from the owners who actually live here. It’s more a ‘room in someone’s house’ than an actual guest house.
