The location is close to everything in downtown Greencastle. Easy walk to Depauw. The unit was nice and clean. The bed was firm and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked - but it took me forever to find the silverware - it was way in the back of a drawer behind the dish towels. They offered a free breakfast sandwich and coffee from their shop below it. I did not have it (due to food restrictions) but that was a nice offer.
It is located on a truck route and so lots of noisy traffic/trucks right outside the windows which were original single pain glass. It kind of felt like I was sleeping on top of a freeway. Thankfully I brought ear plugs or I would not have been able to sleep. I dropped off my luggage during the day light and came back after dark. There were NO lights on outside the building, inside the front entry, up the steep stairs or in the hallway outside my room. It did not feel safe and the light I tried inside the entry did not work. The next morning I found other lights and was able to turn them on before I left for the evening the next day so I did not come back to scary dark hallways. However, front entry light was burnt out. the Kitchen light was also burnt out in my loft. The sheets/linens were washed with TONS of fabric softener/fabreeze which was AWFUL. I thankfully found a spare set of sheets that were not as bad when I changed them and found that there was no mattress cover - which is gross considering it is a rental. There were not actual sleeping pillows either - just stiff 10" high decorative pillows. The towels were unacceptable - they were dollar store cheap black towels that did not dry you but left a layer of black fuzz all over you. I had to find a kitchen towel to actually get dry and get the black fuzz off. I guess I did not read the fine print in the listing- there was no internet. For what a night's stay cost this should be provided. The stairs/hallway smelled like cat... Thankfully the loft did not.
