Located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Cascade Locks is right across the river from Stevenson, Washington. From here, a day trip to the charming town of Hood River, Oregon is just 20 miles west and closer, you'll find the historic Bonneville Dam, and boat tours of the Gorge are available on the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler, leaving from the Marine Park, a five minute drive away.
When you're not out exploring this majestic natural area, this Cascade River Watch vacation home offers a spacious retreat for up to six guests. Relax in the living room for some TV and maybe a board game. And with a full kitchen, snacks and popcorn are easy to prepare and accompany your evening's activity. There's a counter bar and a wooden dining table for the nights you plan a home-cooked meal.
On sunny afternoons, head out to the river-facing deck for a glass of wine or fire up the grill for a cookout. This is also a serene spot for your morning coffee or a post-dinner glass of port.
The three bedrooms have two queen beds and two twins - there's space for adults and kids alike and with two full bathrooms, getting everyone ready to head out in the morning will be hassle-free. This charming rental exceeded our expectations. The pictures looked nice, but it was even better in person. The views of the mountains and the river were beautiful. We were greeted by the brightest rainbow we'd ever seen framed by the picture window in the living room picture window shortly after our arrival. The house had everything we needed. Plus, it was very pet friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was very convenient to everything. It was a cute house with a nice kitchen and large dining table. But our very best memory was created outside on the deck! What a beautiful view!!! The house was very clean and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The Good: The house was clean, the beds and living room furniture were comfortable, and the smart TV worked. The deck offers beautiful views of the water and mountains, with plenty of seating and a table to enjoy the scenery. The layout would work well for families, as it provides separate living spaces. It’s not far from downtown. The Bad: The 200 pet fee for our small dog for a two-day stay was outrageous. The yard is not completely fenced, had lots of mole hill dirt piles and the neighborhood dogs barked frequently during the day. The lack of air conditioning made the house miserable, especially since we had to keep the windows open at night to try to keep it cooler. Unfortunately, there is a train line just one street away, and trains pass by frequently. Another train line across the water blasts its horn throughout the night, every couple of hours. Sleeping with the windows open due to the lack of air conditioning made the train noise unbearable.The raised floor transitions throughout the house were a tripping hazard. The nonstick pans were in poor condition and no longer had any nonstick properties. The downstairs area also had a somewhat musty, old-house smell. I would not rent this property again because of the train noise, lack of air conditioning, and excessive pet fee. Additionally, the lockbox at the front door was difficult to open.Property manager was sympathetic to my questioning of the excessive pet fee.
