As a proud military family, we know that time spent with those you cherish is the greatest luxury. We’ve designed The Cottage at Rock Creek to be a place where you can truly unplug, reconnect, and create lasting memories. Whether you’re here for a peaceful retreat or a lakeside adventure, we’ve thought of every detail to make your stay restorative.

Relaxation starts the moment you step onto our large screened-in porch. Gaze at the lake from the rocking chairs or grab the provided gear for a day of adventure! We’ve supplied fishing poles, tackle, a beach bag with towels, and a cooler. You’ll also find life preservers for the kayak located behind the garage. For your convenience, a retractable laundry line is available for wet gear.

This thoughtfully designed cottage maximizes every inch, offering intentional spaces and charming furnishings. Whether you’re visiting as a couple, with friends, or as a small family, you’ll find a variety of cozy nooks and engaging activities to enjoy throughout your stay.

In the heart of the cottage, you’ll find our extra-large sofa that comfortably seats seven—perfect for a 'pig-pile' family movie night! It easily pulls out for additional sleeping space, with all the bedding and pillows tucked neatly underneath the cushions. If someone needs a bit more elbow room, the living room also features a sleeper chair that extends to a full 84 inches. At the press of a button, you can ignite the fireplace to set a romantic mood or simply take the chill off a cool lakeside evening.

Enjoy our collection of family games, cards, toys, and books. We want you to feel at home here—if you’re in the middle of a great story when your stay ends, please take the book with you and enjoy it to the last page.

We designed the dining room to be the heart of the home—a true place for gathering. Use the large table to catch up over home-cooked meals, spread out a family board game, or even string a new fishing reel for tomorrow’s catch. If you have to bring work along, the space doubles as a spacious home office supported by high-speed StarLink internet, ensuring you stay connected even while you’re getting away from it all.

Start your mornings slowly at our coffee bar. Inside the wooden hutch near the kitchen, you’ll find a selection of coffees, teas, and cocoa. Feel free to program the machine the night before so you can wake up to the aroma of a fresh, hot brew ready for your first look at the lake.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials for home-cooked meals, including basic seasonings and cooking oil. You’ll have everything you need at your fingertips: an oven/stove, microwave, crockpot, blender, toaster, and an ice machine. We are on high-quality rural water that tastes fantastic! For a true lakeside experience, feel free to use our cast iron cookware and outdoor grill, located in the storage cabinet near the fire ring.

Note for Anglers: While we love a fresh catch, please utilize the fish cleaning stations located around the lake and enjoy cooking your fish outside on the grill to keep the cottage smelling fresh!

Retreat to the primary bedroom, featuring a queen-sized memory foam mattress for a restful night’s sleep. The room is well-appointed with its own television and two large wardrobes with drawers for all your belongings. For added comfort, we’ve installed privacy panels that can be drawn if family or friends are moving through the area. We’ve also provided a sound machine—perfect for those mornings when the local lake geese decide to be a bit more vocal!

For your convenience, the vanity, sink, and mirror are located just outside the main bathroom—perfect for multitasking while someone else is in the shower. We’ve stocked this area with thoughtful essentials, including complimentary body lotion, cotton swabs, floss, and facial pads. You’ll also find a hair dryer, both a flat iron and curling iron, and a magnification mirror to make your morning routine effortless. Charming 'bird' hooks are mounted nearby for your toiletry bags, while an iron and ironing board are tucked away in the closet should you need them.

Step into the beautifully tiled shower, fully stocked with premium herbal shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. To make your stay even more seamless, we provide a full set of plush bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths, so you have everything you need to refresh after a day at the lake.

We believe the family dog is a true part of the family, which is why we are delighted to welcome well-behaved, clean pets to our home. To make your stay stress-free, we provide a fully fenced-in backyard, a large dog crate, and a pooper scooper for easy cleanup. We kindly ask that you remain mindful of our neighbors and treat our furnishings with care to keep the space enjoyable for everyone. Before you check out, we truly appreciate you addressing any pet hair to help us maintain a pristine environment for our next guests. We can’t wait to host you and your four-legged companion!
