This was the best place we have stayed in for many many years. The property is a National Treasure, it is over 400 years old and the owners are direct descendants of the original owners. The history in the property is remarkable. The food is spectacular. The service from the parents and son who runs the property was second to none. We loved laying on the bed looking directly out to the most magnificent scenery. We had a wonderful walk up through the village. The spot is so quiet and peaceful. The entire property is very private and the owners are very discrete. The cedar bath was special. Seriously, if you are looking for a special couple of days in the Iya Valley, it would be very hard to find anything better than this. World class.
I wish we stayed longer.

家族4人で宿泊しましたが、田舎の故郷に帰ったような温かい感覚を味わえます。重要文化財に指定されている建物に宿泊できると言う特別な体験に加え、囲炉裏での火起こし、抹茶や鰹節削り、薪割り、ピザ焼き、ドローンなど普段できない様々な体験をさせていただき、貴重な楽しい1泊2日の家族旅行となりました。オーナー一家のおもてなしが素晴らしい、単なる宿泊施設を超えた魅力一杯の宿だと思います。

We had a truly wonderful stay at Sunji’s house. We were his very first guests, and he and his parents went out of their way to make us feel at home. The house itself is stunning, you can really feel the history in the building and it’s such a relaxing space, renovated with real taste and care. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent; we loved watching the family cook over the open fire, and spending that time with them was a highlight of the stay
