Dopo una vera e propria disavventura con il proprietario del Sunset Terrace Taormina, che dopo aver incassato l’intero importo del soggiorno ci ha lasciati senza alloggio a soli due giorni dal nostro arrivo, siamo arrivati quasi per caso a Canicattì… e alla fine non avremmo potuto desiderare di meglio!
La casa è semplicemente straordinaria: molto grande, spaziosa, accogliente e dotata di bellissimi ambienti. Il giardino è magnifico e la piscina rende il soggiorno ancora più piacevole e rilassante. Un luogo perfetto per trascorrere delle bellissime vacanze in famiglia.
Ma ciò che rende questa casa davvero speciale sono soprattutto le persone.
Fin dal nostro arrivo, Vincent ci ha accolti con grande attenzione, facendoci trovare del vino e dei dolcetti di benvenuto: un gesto davvero molto apprezzato.
E poi c’è Piero, che si occupa degli spazi esterni della proprietà e che merita una menzione davvero speciale. È una persona di una gentilezza, disponibilità e generosità rare. Sempre presente quando abbiamo bisogno di qualcosa, ci ha fatto visitare il paese, ci ha portato le verdure del suo orto e persino delle uova fresche. Qualunque cosa vi serva, potete essere certi che Piero è sempre pronto ad aiutarvi, con il sorriso e con una grande bontà d’animo.
Dopo lo stress e la delusione vissuti prima della nostra partenza, trovare questa casa e soprattutto incontrare persone così accoglienti è stata una bellissima sorpresa.
Siamo arrivati a Canicattì per caso, ma ripartiremo con dei bellissimi ricordi e con la sensazione di aver incontrato persone davvero speciali.
Grazie di cuore a Vincent e soprattutto a Piero per aver reso il nostro soggiorno ancora più bello. ❤️

Villa Irene is a charming, quirky (in a good way!) and very comfortable villa for a relaxing stay in the countryside on the outskirts of Canicatti. Vincenzo and Maria are very attentive hosts and Piero who fastidiously maintains the pool and the grounds daily was lovely and friendly. Get on the right side of Piero and he will bring you wonderful fresh produce grown on site including freshly laid eggs and delicious tomatoes and cucumbers for fantastic salads. The quaint and well shaded outdoor kitchen was perfect for epic barbecues, of which we had a few!
If you have young children, you have to keep an eye on them on the elegantly landscaped pool patio as there are steep rocky drops down to the olive groves below.
