Apples and Antlers - Quaint Riverside Log Cabin in Linville Harbor

Your evenings belong out here — flames in the fire pit, dinner at the outdoor table, and a wide deck framed by trees with nobody else in sight.
Pine cabinets wrap the kitchen from floor to ceiling, the island doubles as game night headquarters with shelves of board games, and the windows over the sink look straight out into the trees while the round table waits nearby.
Step in the side door and you're already in the living space — wildlife-print pillows on the sofa, a mini-split for year-round comfort, and an open sightline all the way to the kitchen island.
Six Windsor chairs circle the oval table under a bay window full of forest, a moose painting on the wall, and a doorway steps away that leads directly out to the screened porch.
The island's glass cooktop and stainless fridge sit in full view of the stone fireplace and dining table, so cooking here never means missing what's happening in the next room.

About this cabin rental

Welcome to Apples and Antlers Cabin, a 2-bedroom, 2-bath log cabin tucked along the river in Linville Land Harbor, in North Carolina's High Country.

Right On The River - The screened porch and the open deck sit steps from the water, and the sound of it carries through the whole cabin. Mornings are for coffee on the porch. Evenings are for the fire pit out back, with the grill going and the river running past. It's the kind of place where you stop checking your phone by the second day.

Warm Inside, Too - There's a stone wood-burning fireplace in the living room for cold nights, mini-split air conditioning for warm afternoons, and electric heat that keeps the cabin comfortable straight through a mountain winter. Books, board games, and music are already here when the weather turns you indoors.

Sleeps 6 - Two bedrooms and two full baths hold the core of your group, and a pull-out sofa brings you to six. I keep a rollaway bed and an air mattress on hand as well, so bring the extra kid or the friend who decided to come last minute.

Cook Like You're Home - The kitchen is fully set up: full-size refrigerator and freezer, stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, kettle, blender, baking sheets, dishes and silverware for the whole group, and wine glasses for the porch. There's a washer and dryer right in the cabin, and I provide all the linens, towels, and starter toiletries.

Linville Land Harbor - The community sits along the Linville River just outside Newland, and there's a lot here if you want it. The lake has a beach with a designated swim area, canoe racks, and quiet water with no gas motors. The river is stocked trout water, with wading allowed at the low-water bridge in Linville Meadows just up the road. There's a golf course with its own shop and putting green, a recreation complex with a pool, and tennis, pickleball, and shuffleboard courts. Amenities belong to the property owners association, so you'll use the owner's membership pass to get in - I'll send your access details before you arrive. Fishing needs a Land Harbor permit (about $20 per day for anyone 16 and up, kids under 16 free) plus a North Carolina fishing license, and the POA office can set you up.

Getting Here And Getting Around - You're about 20 minutes from Sugar Mountain and 30 from Beech Mountain for ski season, with Banner Elk, Boone, Grandfather Mountain, and Linville Caverns all an easy drive. A car is the way to go up here, and two parking spaces at the cabin are yours. AWD or 4WD is HIGHLY recommended in winter.

Self Check-In - Let yourself in on your own schedule with a smart lock code I'll send before you arrive. No meeting time to coordinate, no keys to hand off.

Good To Know - This is a quiet residential community with community quiet hours from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. There is one exterior security camera on the front deck facing the front door, and no cameras of any kind inside. It's bear country, so trash stays bagged and inside. I'm not able to accommodate pets at this time, and the cabin isn't child-proofed - the river runs right past it and isn't fenced, so please keep an eye on little ones.

If you have any questions at all, just reach out. I'm here to help!

I look forward to helping you have a rejuvenating and restorative vacation filled with memories for a lifetime!
