My home is filled with wood and color - as cozy as a mountain cabin, warm and bright in winter, and gently cooled by a water-based air conditioning system in summer. Its location right in the heart of downtown Bari makes it perfect for shopping, nightlife, theaters, and exploring the historic center. It’s just a stone’s throw from the monumental waterfront and Pane e Pomodoro Beach.
The living and dining area is connected to the kitchen by a sliding door. The master bedroom can also be left completely open to the living room or closed off with two sliding doors. A single bedroom and the two bathrooms are accessed via a small hallway. A bed in the living room alcove (which can be used as a sofa during the day) brings the apartment’s sleeping capacity to 4. The double bedroom also has a crib that can accommodate a child up to 4 years old, bringing the maximum occupancy to 4 adults + 1 child. The main bathroom is equipped with a sink, toilet, bidet, and spacious shower. The secondary bathroom is not completely separated from the main bathroom (the glass partition wall does not extend all the way to the ceiling) and contains a sink, toilet, bidet, washbasin, and washing machine. The main balcony is furnished with a small table and two chairs. The kitchen balcony is equipped with a clothesline.
The home is gas-free; all kitchen and heating appliances are electric: induction cooktop, electric oven, and electric heat pump heating.
The flat is situated in the commercial heart of the city: the Murat district, on the outskirts of which are the main institutions, theatres and the university. Just one block away is the Old Bari district, home to the main religious and secular monuments. The area is also the hub of the nightlife scene and boasts a wealth of restaurants and bars.
The flat is within walking distance of Bari Centrale railway station. The railway station is also the terminus for the metropolitan train and buses from the airport. Via Abate Gimma is accessible by car and has paid public on-street parking (€2/hour). The public car park is often full during peak hours. A good alternative is, after unloading your luggage, to leave your car at one of the ‘park and ride’ car parks, which are served by a shuttle bus to the city centre. The cheapest option is the one near Pane e Pomodoro beach (€1 per day). Near the house, there are a few garages with high hourly and daily rates. Taxi ranks are located near the Central Station and the Petruzzelli Theatre.
Dear guest, I love Bari and this house dearly, but unfortunately I am often away on business. So, I thought I’d help keep the cost down by sharing it with those who, whether for pleasure or necessity, need temporary accommodation. I would ask you to please respect the house and look after it. The house fully reflects who I am, as it was designed to fulfil my wishes. My mountain roots and love of real wood, my longing for the sea – especially in southern Italy: the Gargano, the Amalfi Coast, Ischia, and the lovely beach at Monopoli. The brightly coloured handmade ceramics and stained glass. The relaxation and well-being of a day at the seaside and the joy of sharing special occasions with friends. Long live life!
