About this house rental
Tucked away on 9.5 private acres in Bigfork, Montana, this amazing mountain retreat offers sweeping views of a neighboring pond, Jewel Basin, and the Swan and Mission ranges rising on either side. Jewel Basin is one of the last true hike-in wilderness areas in the Lower 48, with over 15,000 acres of alpine lakes, elk trails, and backcountry silence, and the Swan and Mission ranges rising on either side. Whether you're here for summer wildflowers, fall color, or a snow-quiet winter, Jewel Basin Overlook delivers an unforgettable Montana experience.
Inside, the home is designed to bring everyone together without anyone feeling crowded. With 4 bedrooms and a flexible bed configuration, this home makes it easy for families, couples, or larger groups traveling together. A dedicated movie room offers a cozy spot to unwind after a day on the trails or the water, while the spacious deck is built for entertaining, complete with patio heaters, a fire pit, sectional seating, and a bench swing where you can take in the mountain air. Two additional outdoor fire pits scattered across the property invite evenings of stargazing and s'mores, while the surrounding acreage offers privacy and space to roam.
Whether it's a family reunion, a group of old friends, or just an excuse to get everyone together, Jewel Basin Overlook gives you the space and the setting to make it unforgettable.
Please note there is no guest access to the neighboring ponds.
Summer in Bigfork
Flathead Lake takes center stage in summer, and for good reason. It's the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, with crystal-clear water that's made for boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming. Glacier National Park is just a short drive away, with the Going-to-the-Sun Road, Lake McDonald, and over 70 day hikes ready to fill your itinerary. Back closer to home, downtown Bigfork punches well above its size. Local shops, art galleries, award-winning restaurants, and the Bigfork Summer Playhouse are all within walking distance. If you'd rather be outside, the Swan River Nature Trail and Jewel Basin Wilderness Area offer great hiking, the lakes and rivers are stocked for fishing, and Eagle Bend Golf Course is one of the best rounds you'll play in the state.
Winter in Bigfork
The Flathead Valley doesn't ease into winter. It fully commits. Whitefish Mountain Resort is your go-to for big-mountain skiing, with terrain that satisfies every level and a recent #3 ranking in the West from Ski Magazine to back it up. For something more laid-back, Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is a local favorite with wide-open runs and some of the best views of Flathead Lake you'll find anywhere. Off the slopes, the valley keeps delivering. Snowmobile with local outfitters, ice fish on Flathead Lake, or head into Glacier National Park's backcountry for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing through some of the most untouched terrain in Montana.
