The Neighborhood:
The home sits directly by Sherman Circle in Petworth, a residential Northwest DC neighborhood known for its community atmosphere, rowhouses, local dining, independent businesses, and green spaces. Sherman Circle itself is a neighborhood park, while nearby Grant Circle and Rock Creek Cemetery add more open space to the area.
Petworth offers a more local Washington experience while keeping guests connected to the rest of the city. Around the neighborhood you'll find restaurants, cafés and community destinations, while President Lincoln's Cottage is one of the area's notable historic attractions.
Nearby highlights include:
• Sherman Circle Park
• Grant Circle

• President Lincoln's Cottage
• Rock Creek Cemetery
• Petworth Recreation Center
•Georgia Ave–Petworth Metro Station
Getting Around:
The neighborhood offers several ways to explore DC without needing to stay in the busy downtown area.
The Georgia Ave–Petworth METRO-rail Station is just a little over a 15-minute walk away, on the Green and Yellow lines, and multiple bus routes operate around the neighborhood.
4 bus stops are within a block or two from the apartment, heading toward downtown and toward Takoma Park.
Sherman Circle also scores particularly well for biking, making cycling another practical option. The nearest Capital Bikeshare rack is only steps away at Kansas Ave & Sherman Cr NW.
For destinations such as the National Mall, Smithsonian museums, downtown DC, and other major attractions, guests can combine Metro, bus, rideshare, or driving depending on their plans.
Other Things to Note:
Lower-Level Home:
This is a lower-level apartment. While the space is bright, well-lit, and thoughtfully finished, some areas receive less natural light than a typical above-ground apartment. We like to mention this in advance so guests know exactly what to expect.
Also- please NOTE, there is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.
