Unique location

Location is amazing. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the wait staff was very good, attentive and prompt

Wonderful location, but partially blocked view and lights shining in all night.

The location inside the park is excellent, especially if you're planning on going out early for trail walks. The view, especially from the restaurant, is expansive and beautiful. The room was comfortable, quiet and rather elegant (gorgeous sink), although a bit small with all the furniture. Despite warnings about there being no wifi in the rooms, we had good connectivity in ours.

We reserved a deluxe double room with a view, and the unsmiling desk person snapped that we were lucky to get such a room on short notice. However, the room (#152) didn't actually have much of a view. It was partially obstructed by trees, so that our main view was of the two-storey block of rooms below. Despite Mesa Verde's designation as an International Dark Sky Park, we were blasted all night by the exterior lights of those rooms. It was a warm night, and the choice was to pull the shades down completely and have darkness but no breeze, or to have a breeze and light shining in our faces. In the end, we pulled the shades and left the front door open all night in order to get some air. This excess and obtrusive lighting really needs to be addressed, not only for the comfort of guests but also to be in compliance with Dark Sky guidelines. Other negatives (since you asked!): The bathtub tap dripped constantly. We had dinner at the restaurant and waited nearly an hour for the first dish and then received an over-salted salad that was truly inedible (new employee in the kitchen, it was explained). It took two hours to have a simple dinner that should have taken 45 minutes max. Overall, I'm glad we stayed there for the location, but I probably wouldn't return. We stayed in the campground the next night and enjoyed it.

Gracious staff, great food, and convenient to the historical Mesa Verde sites

The location perfect to tour Mesa Verde

While our room was clean and comfortable, it was a bit tight. What I was truly disappointed in was the view. We were the only ones staying in the “row” of rooms, our window and porch view was of a big bush. Many other vacant rooms had far better of a view of this beautiful part of the world. Since it was just the one day we were staying, we did not bother asking to be moved. However, I am in the hospitality industry and we always move/upgrade in instances such as this.

We loved the whole experience besides a few setbacks in comfort

The room is Inside the park and the view was excellent

Rooms are pretty small for a family trip of 4. Had to open the bathroom door to get my self in the shower. No wii fii but I wasent there to be connected to the world. Kids had a fit but it forced them to actually communicate

A lovely place to stay but food options leave something to be desired

Great to be able to stay in Mesa Verde.

There are not many options for food. There is either a quite expensive place or an inexpensive but inspiring place with poor service. It seems such a waste not to have a good restaurant here!

Inside Mesa Verde ... location, location, location!

Its inside the Park which is very positive for our 8am tour (saves 1 to 2 hours of driving / waiting) Looked like a great restaurant

IT IS DARK so bring a flashlight and you will do great!

Fantastic staff at reception - a very warm welcome - great location too!

The staff at reception were so nice and helpful - they were the highlight of the stay! Great location to get up and explore Mese Verde - convenient parking right at your room.

Internet was not strong enough in the rooms - had to use it at reception however, in a place like Mese Verde, having limited internet is not a bad thing!

This is really the only lodging option for Mesa Verde National Park and they know it.

The lodge is located in the middle of Mesa Verde National Park.

Limited food and beverage at the lodge off season. You need a reservation 24 hours in advance for dinner and have drive to their "cafeteria" for breakfast and lunch. Rooms have been updated, but poorly maintained. Facility is short staffed and over crowded. Cafeteria seems well managed, the lodge not so much.

Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was okay. Some things were not available at Far View Terrace. We bought a few items and took back to room to eat on porch.

Beautiful place, lovely decor. Appreciate the difficulties of maintaining the facility.

Americana Native History

Location is 20 miles inside the park. Everything is no more than a 40 minute drive. Coffee shop/Cafe is 5 minutes down the road with full breakfast or lite breakfast options. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Hotel dining is good with a variety of entries. Market price dinners..... need reservations. NP Rangers are knowledgeable about the ruins and what are being done to preserve them.

Very clean. View was nice. Try to get second floor due to noise from upstairs if your on first. Staff friendly. So nice to be close to the ruins. Note it was very clean.

Very small room with king. As noted when booking, no tv. Toilet did run and shower light was out but reported at check out.

We were not able to have cell service. Wifi was very week and did t work most of the time. This was ok since we were there to hike and see the outdoors but would have been nice to know up front that we would not have service throughout the stay and while in the park.

Awesome experience, would definitly stay there again!

The view from the lodge and our room was amazing! It was nice having a private balcony to sit on. Very quiet property, clean rooms and conveniently located within the park.
