The Strater Hotel is awesome. So much history. The rooms were decorated beautifully. We love the Durango Area and vacation there often. I will definitely stay there again.

A truly historic place with wonderful Victorian furnishings as well as good food and drink in its restaurants. Perfect location on Durango's Main Street.

The hotel is gorgeous and well decorated. The location can’t be beat. We stayed there two nights and couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep due to all the street noise, train noise and other guest noise. As much as I love historic hotels, I will not stay at this one again.

Absolutely love this hotel its so beautiful and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. At check in i had requested a room with a bath tub. They immediately found us a different room with a tub. And they also provided a mini fridge and microwave....so awesome!!!!

The stay at the Strater Hotel was a very comfortable relaxing hotel and walking distance to the train station. Dinner in the same building was wonderful with the food and the entertainment.

Absolutely love the place. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is magnificent from the decor to the service. Right in the middle of main street you are in easy walking distance from everything. And if you don't want to go out they'll have everything you need to keep you entertained. From the Diamond Belle saloon to the other two restaurants on site. The staff is very friendly, gracious and welcoming. If you like history and great service this is the place for you.

Used to actually live in Durango and this is always a first choice when going back to visit. If you choose to not venture far, it provides all the amenities needed, but is also centrally located downtown, so is an easy walk to anything you want to do or see on Main Street.

In the bathrooms there are no handles and the bathtub is slippery, a heater is needed in the bathroom since in cold weather it is a little freezing.

We loved the history of the hotel. The decor was elegant and reminded us of the past. I love the decoration in our room. We will definitely be back.

It would be nice to have been told upon check in about reserving the jacuzzi. It ultimately worked out and we were able to reserve 30 min late in the evening.

Stayed for winter and New Years vacation had a wonderful time.Having a hotel with quality entertainment when you come back from winter activities was fantastic.Always sceptical staying at an old hotel, but I really enjoyed this hotel.

Beautiful historic property. Beautiful furnishings. It was very quiet and clean. The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and shopping.

They went out of their way to see that I didn't have to change rooms when I added a day to my original reservation. The ambience of the late 1800s is maintained throughout without sacrificing modern comforts. We loved watching the Polar Express from our window as it returned each evening.

We have stayed at the Strater several times because of the history and the fun amenities. The bar and restaurant are amazing but the hotel room is a bit dirty for the price. The customer service is always great!

Beautiful old historic hotel, very friendly staff, a lot of interesting artifacts from the late 1800s to the beginning of last century. We had a great dinner at Mahogany Grill! Parking is very easy two lots across the street and behind the hotel! Conveniently located in downtown Durango on the Main Street within walking distance to Durango railway station.

It had a great vibe, staff were friendly and location was great. We were on the 4th floor and it was very hot. There are no controls to change the temperature in your room. We were told that the heating/cooling system is old and doesn’t always work well. Staff gave us a box fan to put in the window that did not have a screen. The fan was old, loud and falling apart.
