I stayed here on two occasions in the past few weeks because I was going to shows at The Greek Theatre. The location is good, easy access to the highway, walking distance to Fourth Street, and there are some restaurants just across the street. Beds were comfortable and the rooms seemed clean. I loved the lobby and it was quiet at night.
On my second stay, the room had some kind of a musty odor, and one of the curtains had multiple cigarette burns. The outlets next to the lamp on the nightstand didn't work, but the charging station did. I never found the ice machine or someone to ask when I was looking.

Location to train station was best part, staff was friendly and it was mostly very comfortable.
However, there was a cockroach in the room, we discovered in the morning. It crawled up to the table we were about to eat breakfast on.

It’s a very cool old hotel
The pool was ice cold and closed at 5 PM! there was no place to sit outside once that gate was locked. The towels were very rough. we could hear the people above us walking around at 3 AM.

The fishing boats require you to arrive at 5:30 am, so be very close to The Emeryville marina is a plus. ( only 5-10 minute..."
