Staff was excellent and available. Food was excellent. Spacious place...never felt crowded. Super interesting history and architectural details. Beautiful inside and out, very enjoyable for relaxing and appreciating what others have made and done there.
Has great potential to be a really popular destination, but it's not there. Too many upgrades needed inside, outside needs landscaping maintenance and some professional input. The owner has the right vision, just comes up a little short. I am sure he has had all this looked into and it's just a huge financial bump that may be impossible to overcome? Maybe a group of investors who value historic properties could come together to share the burden and be involved as frequent owner-guests? The staff is bought into the future potential, so maybe locals would trade labor for some benefits at the Inn. Tem- porary room and board in trade for their efforts? That idea would have to be developed...many downsides. If it eventually sells, hopefully the new owner has the same vision. I don't see it selling at the price it is at due to the many upgrades needed.

Beautiful, vintage mansion on well landscaped garden property.

Beautiful castle and gardens. I liked the porch seating best.
The front door key didn’t work when we returned at 11 pm. Also a strange organ music sound throughout the night.

Beautiful building and grounds. Kind, helpful, caring staff. One worker carried my suitcase upstairs for me, as you don't have an elevator. They brought a hair dryer and additional towels up when I asked--although I had tried online to assure there was a hairdryer in advance. Delicious breakfast! Comfortable bed. Gorgeous antiques. I'll ask my friend if she has anything to add.
The SHOWER!!! It was like a shower in a travel trailer, but didn’t drain nearly as well. Although I managed to put my shoes and dirty clothes far enough away from the curtain, the floor flooded right up to the toilet (over the bath mat) about 1/8" or more deep. It was difficult to dry my feet and then put my socks & shoes on!!! I'll ask my friend if she took any photos... The online description did not include one of this tiny bathroom--that should have been a red flag. The groom for the wedding being held there caused issues. When my friend and I returned after our reunion, he has passed out in his underwear on the settee on the landing. Evidently, he had peed himself. In the middle of the night, my roommate heard him pounding on the door upstairs (his bridal suite, I guess) and yelling at his new wife to let him in. Very sad, but also unfortunately disturbing for at least one Henderson guest. Parking wasn't real convenient. I managed to park by one of the cottages. In the morning, I noticed my front bumper was about 1/8" away from a planter! It was empty and didn't serve any purpose. Glad I didn't hit it!!!
