Better places to stay in Helen

Not much besides where the property was

No coffee in room. Breakfast was a joke!! Not even coffee. Danish was all gone be for 7:15 am. Phone in room didn’t work,unable to call office or other room where kids were

It was wonderful the lady in front desk was very generous an kind I enjoyed her showing us her drawings !!

Without thinking, it was the worst hotel stay ever!

What breakfast? Toilet wouldn't flush properly, curtains over window were not secured, construction crew started early in the morning disturbing our sleep and continued throughout the day.

The only hope for that dump would be to demolish it and build a new hotel 🏨.

Would not recommend this property at all.

We had requested a first floor room on two occasions and didn’t get one. We were charged $25 per night for a dog when the website said $25 PER STAY. Manager told the front desk person each night was a stay. Loud banging past midnight and again at 6 AM.

Absolutely loved Helen and the entire area, the hotel was a nice cheap place for one night stay

It was nice affordable hotel right on the outside if Helen.

It was a construction zone as it is currently being renovated and that was not listed anywhere in listing. My room was a newly renovated room, while it looked nice the bed was super hard and uncomfortable.

I wouldn't pay $1

The only positive thing about this hotel was the location & the gentleman working the front desk upon arrival. It was very close to downtown Helen, so we didn't have to drive far to get out. The man who checked us in was very friendly and informative.

This was easily the most disgusting hotel room I have ever stayed in. We would have left if every other property hadn't been booked full for Oktoberfest. The shower curtain was moldy, the bathroom drain was crusty, there was hair on the shower walls, and the tub didn't drain. I killed two bugs immediately upon entering our room. The beds were very uncomfortable. The coffee tasted like someone had reused the same grounds for five pots trying to stretch a buck. Overall just very displeased with this stay.

First floor and it had jacuzzi tub and pool

The jacuzzi tub stopper didn't fit so it leaked and faucet dripped all night, the outlet on lamp near tub did not work at all to charge phone USB or the one with box attached. You could only flush toilet once then have to wait like 20 min or so before could flush again. So 2 people can't use bathroom back to back and expect to flush. The room had a stale non use smell in it when we opened door and one of the pillows had a huge brown stain on it. The bed was hard and squeaky when you sat/laid/moved on it. Had issues checking in even though room was prepaid. When I called customer care they were rude and hung up on me. The breakfast only consists on waffles and cereal that was stale. The pool was dirty I took the net and cleaned bugs best I could on top of it best I could before tempting to get in. Went up front to get new batteries for remote and he got batteries out of another remote saod try these and guess what those didn't work had to call him from the phone and he met me out side my room and said try these he got them out of remote he knew worked... [a hotel should keep batteries for remotes on hand].

It’s a nice place it you are booking just for sleep. Besides that the place was not up to standards.

It was in a perfect location in front of the water park.

The pool was so dirty. They didn’t even turn the pump on. Our particular door has to be kicked in to open.

Would not do it again paid $250 a nite for the room

breakfast was no good didn't have any better for the waffle pool was so dirty everyone was scared to even put their feet in it.

The front desk staff were nice, they weren’t very experienced, they seem to be trying to learn as 20 of us were checking in

The pool was nasty. We heard some kind of excuse about a previous guest doing some thing, but that’s not the case there’s no way that pool could be that nasty without it just not being taken care of.

Location to town and trails was great

The rooms inside were as expected for the cost. The tub and toilet were stained and filthy. The wall behind the toilet was missing tiles and there were a few bugs, no bed bugs though!

Disappointing

The rooms were nasty. The floor made the bottom of our feet's black like it hadn't been mopped my little one had black legs from crawling on the floor. There was hair in the tub and the beds Bathroom shower curtain was very dirty.

nothing looked like the pictures on the website, it's a dirty place with bugs and cockroaches, there were no clean towels, it smelled like mold it was the worst hotel experience I've had in the US. the locks didn't work and it also said there was breakfast and even if there was I would eat in such filth. horrible and for the price charged of 167 dollars God forbids

Econolodge Helen GA substandard for the event price charged. Dirty, not as booked, and poor service.

Did not have a good experience. Rooms Dirty and not as booked or expected. Late check in due to not being ready and were not what we asked for or booked.

Motel was under staffed. Requested joining rooms two queens per room. Was told that was all set. Got there and that was not the case. Ended up with a separate King and two seperate beds in another room not adjoining. One room ready at 3:30.. second room ready after 7pm. Both were really nasty. Maid came to clean room at 5. He was in his pajamas and looked like he had just gotten out of bed. Discussed this with manager lady. She was over whelmed with being over booked and not enough rooms and not any clean rooms. She changed our rooms 3 times before we ever got 2 rooms. One at 3:30 and one at 7pm. Neither were what we booked and both were nasty. She stated that was all she had and she would not charge us for these rooms. Very disappointed!!!!!!!!

Will never stay here again! Just beware when booking at this location.

Bed was comfortable and they did have a small continental breakfast with waffles, cereal, muffins, enough to get you started for the day.

I stayed here on Dec 2 2022 for 1 night. Unfortunately, there was no heat in my room. The room did not get higher than 64. The thermostat also never stopped blinking "Lo batt". I can just assume that is why it never worked during my stay. Walls are thin and you can hear everything. It's one of the first hotels when you drive into town. Not too long of a walk into the actual city center but if you do choose to walk please know it could take up to a 25 minute walk to get into the actual town. The room was not cleaned proficiently either. There was hair from another guest on the bathroom floor and sink. The dust and dirt on the floorboards of the bathroom were disgusting. I took some toilet paper and damped it with water to clean the baseboards myself. The gunk came off pretty easily meaning it just wasn't cleaned properly. There were also little hand prints on the mirror in the room. The WiFi didn't work at all during my stay, granted the WiFi in the whole town of Helen was spotty given the location of Helen in the mountains. on Jan 2 2023, I received a charge for my room, which I had believed to had already been charged, paid, and even received my confirmation receipt that myself and Econo Lodge were square and good to go upon my check out. Well here we are a month later and I'm "finally" being charged. Owner is in India till March, this will not be resolved anytime soon, however one front desk staff member informed me that I was charged a month later due to the owner having bank problems and not having a bank for the funds that were "charged" on December 2nd, to go into. So they charged me a month later stating that reason. Now they have a bank supposedly.
