Room was clean and pleasant. Check in was friendly. Quiet facility. Comfortable bed. Good location as it was halfway point during our trip. Very clean bathroom and shower. Microwave and fridge were clean. No bugs were noticed. Room smelled clean.
Steep steps to room. No breakfast available not even coffee. Coffee in room was undrinkable. Strong smell of curry upon checkin in lobby....was nauseating. No grab-bar in shower/tub.

This is a wonderful independently-owned revitalized motel just on the edge of Albany, the Shakelford County Seat. It was exactly what I was looking for during a solo drive through Central and North Texas, with the right touch of character that stands out in a sea of chain hotels. The owner was a delight to talk to, and very responsive and informative - about the story of the town, museums and art exhibits to visit (if only I had more time), and the rapid development of industry around the area. The room was modest in size but had everything I needed, and was very clean. I had a quiet restful night's sleep, before hitting the road early the next morning. The little town of Albany is worth an exploration as well - beautiful county courthouse.
