The room #430, once we got settled, was comfortable. We really liked the walk in shower stall, the sliding barn doors and the amenities it was outfitted with. They easily accommodated us when we had to cancel one of the 2 rooms we reserved due to my elderly Mother and her caretaker having to cancel last minute.
First, you already know what your parking situation is like there; we were not happy with the lack of being able to easily park. Next, I swear that I had made the reservations for the full River view rooms; that's what I had been specifically looking for when I made the reservations. In any event, we arrived and they gave us our keys to a room on the 6th floor that was directly in front of the elevator, also finding that it was for a Partial River View room. Upon seeing this, we went back to the front desk. We were willing to pay to upgrade to the full river view rooms but they told us none were available. After a few moments, they offered us a Partial view room that was closer to the end of the bldg that would give a better view of the river. Even though we appreciated the offer to accommodate us better, our first question was "why would they give us a room in front of an elevator in the first place, instead of this one when they knew the better room was available?!". I'm a fairly frequent visitor to DC and I've experienced that at other higher end hotels (being put in rooms in front of an elevator) on more than one occasion. Is that something that's done to guests that are not paying rack rate because they're using Booking.com at many hotels or just at Canopy?

Location to The Anthem, the ward, and restaurants could not be better. Staff were exceedingly nice.
There is not a direct elevator from ground floor to your room. The cost was very high, the most expensive hotel of my life.

Staff was super helpful and friendly!
The room needs some upkeep, divots in the walls, paint chipping, and the lampshades were extremely filthy with water stains all over them.
