Staff were friendly and helpful and booked us a taxi to get to the airport. Location was great, very central. Room was fairly clean and housekeeping came after the first night and made the bed and changed the towels. We were able to check in earlier than 3pm.
The room was incredibly small - the door could not be opened fully as it hit the bed, we had to put one case at a time onto the bed in order to open them as there was no floor space at all. Cases had to be closed and stored under the bed. There was only two coat hooks by the door and three hangers on the small storage unit in the room, no hooks or shelves in the bathroom for towels, no other furniture or storage. Only two plug sockets on one side of the bed.
We were on a sublevel, so our room window looked directly into another room's window and could not see the sky/street.
The lift did not service our floor so had to carry our cases down the steep staircase. There is no photo of our room in the listing - the rooms on the listings are much bigger than our double room. More like a hostel.

Downtown is in a great location, super clean, and has everything you need, but what really makes it is the staff. Especially Long, we've stayed a few times now and are in the process of booking more. He has always been welcoming, funny, attentive, and professional. Great value and great service. As visitors to Amsterdam, at least once a month, this is our first place to check availability. Definitely recommend.
