The view from the bedroom window was stunning.
Very old, tv remote didn’t work, hard beds, had to ask for loo paper, no kitchen supplies yet expected to wash up or use dishwasher. Shower over bath with the smallest glass splash but so small water went all over the bathroom floor unless one stood stationary in the corner of the bath so water didn’t go everywhere. I guess we got what we paid for!

Central location, easy check in procedures and good facility, good price. Most importantly, the hotel staff were very helpful and efficient in arranging postage of an item I forgot in the room when checking out. Everything was handled very smoothly.
One laundry machine was not working while another one was full, so I wasn’t able to complete my laundry at the hotel. Not having an aircon in summer was very hard, but the room price reflected that.

I liked that it was a quiet place with a gorgeous view of Ron.
More attention should be paid to cleanliness, especially in the bathroom. I was hoping to find slippers and supplies of shower gel, soap and toilet paper for how much I paid for 4 days. €300 to be exact.

To be honest, the best thing about the hotel was that we were able to get into our room early. We arrived earlier than the checkin time of 4pm (!) and as we were putting our cases into storage, a different reception manager took it upon himself to check if our room was ready - and it was, for which we were grateful. The breakfast was reasonably priced and the selection was pretty good. There was a well-maintained lift to the upper floors.
No air-conditioning. We assumed (our fault) that "fan" meant ceiling fan - it actually meant an electric fan, which even in normal summer temperatures would have been inadequate. We knew the hotel was "pet friendly" - we didn't expect to have dogs roaming unleashed around the lobby. Most of the staff (except the lovely gentleman mentioned previously) didn't smile and in fact the woman running the breakfast buffet seemed almost hostile, while not replenishing the buffet items in a timely manner. The hotel is on an extremely steep hill - even taking the Metro C line to the nearest stop involved a challenging climb. The hotel is reasonably close to the Croix Rousse area, as long as you expect to climb more hills. It isn't within easy walking distance of the old town.
