A quick and easy check in is always a good start to a stay. Plus there was tea/coffee and water available for guests - great after a days travel.
Room was a decent size and had everything we needed for our overnight stay.
Big selection of restaurants/cafes very close by, as well as some small supermarkets.
Great we could leave our suitcases there for a few hours the next day too - thanks!
We became members of the hotel chain as we checked in, which included a free breakfast with our stay. Only to discover that it was only for one person - we both needed to become members and needed different emails for this to be possible. Not practical for many people. Suggest deal needs to be per room, not per person.

The location of Citadines is superb in an area full of restaurants and bars and with easy access the main sites of Lyon.
There was a coffee machine in reception which produced a great coffee and we used regularly.
Aside from that, I have no positive comments.
We arrived by taxi and found the reception area gloomy and untidy, with breakfast tables and chairs strewn everywhere. Despite my request at the time of booking that we be allocated an apartment on a high floor, we were allocated one on the 1st floor. When I queried this, the receptionist replied that we had booked a deluxe apartment with air conditioning and this was the only one available. I doubt that was the case. More likely another example of booking.com customers being allocated inferior rooms. This happens all the time.
The so called ‘deluxe apartment’ was anything but. It was hot (33C) and the air conditioner was next to useless. The apartment overlooked an internal courtyard which was was scrappy and unkept.
The apartment was well equipped, particularly the kitchen which was modern and had a hot plate, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, refrigerator and dishwasher. The bathroom was a disgrace, the bath was chipped and very slippery. It was badly painted and poorly lit, making shaving difficult.
I thought security was an issue. We had an electronic card to enter our room, but not required in the elevator. Effectively this meant anyone can walk in the front door and use the lift to access any floor. That level of security is inadequate. The room did have a clunky safety deposit box out of the last century.
