Incredible value for money. Amazing hot baths. I liked location away from everything but still connected via bus. Breakfast was good. They serve free late night ramen and welcome drinks. Lots of nature around. Staff are great, especially the person from Nepal who helped me was great.
I think they need to do better job of maintaining the carpets and cleanliness of place. Shuttle connecting to Nyoto hotsprings/tsuronoyu hotsprings would have been super convenient and add value of hotel. I think the place in general needs better transportation to connect everything together since things are spread apart. It would increase value proposition for every business in area, not just the hotel.
Hotel also needs to do better job replying to emails and messages on booking.com. getting the shuttle booked was hard as the phone line was Japanese only and they wouldn't reply on booking.com messages or email on their website contact form.

We liked the friendly staff, especially a young man who spoke in English. He welcomed us and then helped us reserve a second night. We decided to stay after the first night and had to change rooms. We waited in the comfortable lounge area for a few hours. This young man made sure we were comfortable. We loved the lavish and delicious buffet dinner. It had a wide variety and was high quality and nicely presented. The onsens were very nice, especially outdoor. Outdoor was quiet and peaceful. Inside was humid and not as nice. Men and women soak separately without bathing suits. We read a brochure from the hotel about Onsen etiquette.
The hotel was a maze of hallways and we got lost a few times st first, as did others. Our second room was smaller, both were clean.

The renovations that had taken place are good. Gives the hotel a fresh clean look in many areas.
The same food at breakfast and dinner for 3 days was boring.

Location was nice
Buffet meal for breakfast and dinner. The menu never changed it was the same for all three nights. They should change a few items especially for the people that are staying multiple nights
