The scenery is peaceful and restful. The loft was impecably clean and cozy. Jean's recommendations on Hue were spot on. On top of that, I really welcomed the experience of being part of the household's routine, it was really nice to be able to share a meal and play with the kids. It's a little bit far from town, but nothing that a Grab can't resolve it. The overall experience makes up for it. I wish Tam Tinh Vien the very best!

Jean was the perfect host. He really added the personal touch. Lots of tips about exploring the area. Breakfasts with other guests so you could chat and pool ideas. We had one supper at the attached orphanage and got to learn a bit more about the children that this home stay supports.

It was inexpensive and I was looking for something modest to offset more expensive hotels. It was very quiet.
The area just seemed unkempt But it was also rainy season. It didn't look like what I expected after looking at the photos. The biggest problem was it wasn't walkable. There were side streets to walk on around the house but it was a bit of a walk to get anywhere. I always had to use a Grab so the cheaper accommodations were not that cheap given transportation costs.
