Part of my heart stayed in Chiang Mai, and MiLa Thapae is definitely one of the reasons why. The staff was incredibly kind, sweet and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived. The hotel was always spotless, comfortable and very well maintained. Breakfast was excellent, with delicious fresh fruit and some truly amazing pancakes that I looked forward to every morning.
What made the stay special, though, was the warmth of the people. MiLa Thapae made my time in Chiang Mai even more memorable, and I would come back without hesitation.
Honestly, there is very little I could complain about. My stay was wonderful from beginning to end. If I return to Chiang Mai, MiLa Thapae will definitely be one of my first choices again.

Located in Old City, the location is perfect to get up and go explore the beautiful temples around it. Literally a 7 minute walk. Peppered along the way are some great restaurants. The hotel is cozy, with lovely staff. We loved chatting to Sanbanwang who was super helpful. He even arranged a car for us to go visit Doi Inthanon and recommended some places to eat. The breakfast was great, highly recommend the Thai eggs. There's also an ATM conveniently located right outside the hotel.
The hotel facilities in general need a little finishing touch. There was a minor water leak in our bathroom. Some of the hooks were loose.

The location is great for ease of walking around Chiang Mai and to Lanna Square. The “party area” in Chiang Mai is about 10 min walk away - where Lanna Square is, if you’re interested in that. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel is small but has a boutique feel to it. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome during our stay. Fresh water in the room every day. Hotel was clean, the room had aircon and was a great size, enjoyed the freestanding bath and shower was huge.
Our room was at the front of the hotel and unfortunately there was a lot of noise at night as the hotel is on a main road, there was also construction works ongoing. I am a light sleeper and the room aircon rattled at night plus the mattress was really hard, so I didn’t sleep too peacefully in this hotel compared to others on my travels through Thailand. The breakfast is okay, option of traditional Thai or English eggs, juice and a coffee. It is quite basic but does for the job we ate out most mornings in Chiang Mai as there are lots of lovely brunch spots we wanted to go to. If I went back to Chiang Mai, I would stay in Nimman area.
