Nestled in Murphys, this attractive house for $205 per night is a great option for your next vacation. The Heard House, in the heart of downtown Murphys, is a sweet, single-level cottage completely rebuilt in 2008 with all the charm and character of a bygone era, thoughtfully updated with today's comforts and conveniences. Easy walking distance to everything downtown, including the Murphys Hotel, shops and restaurants, two dozen wine tasting rooms, community park and river. Located on a sunny and fenced 1/3 acre parcel in a residential neighborhood just one block off Main Street, the cottage is nicely set back and hidden from the street so you have all the privacy you crave, without the traffic and noise issues of downtown. The open and airy living room has vaulted ceilings and a toasty gas fireplace. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and entertaining, with coffee beans, half and half, teas and spices, a vintage gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, and breakfast bar seating. Five star amenities like chocolates by the bedside, fresh flowers, snacks and free WIFI have it stand out from the rest. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, with down comforter and duvet cover. The bathroom has vaulted ceilings, a clawfoot tub/shower combo, hair dryer, and hotel toiletries. Split unit Heating and AC, ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom, and a gas fireplace for your comfort. Private deck with bench seating and an umbrella-shaded table is the perfect spot for relaxing with your morning coffee, plus a gas BBQ, outdoor shower and a horseshoe pit you’re welcome to use. Relax and enjoy watching the squirrels, birds, turkeys and occasional deer that frequent a large, open area behind our property, or grab a night time beverage and take in the starry sky. If you're looking for somewhere special to relax and unwind, the Heard House is a perfect place to call home

Quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Just the retreat from my busy life that I needed. My dog loved the yard and we spent quite a bit of time playing fetch. 5 stars and I will be back!

If you want to come to Murphys this is the place to stay. It is close walking distance to the town. We had a wedding to attend and we walked to it and home. This is not a party place, and nor should it be. Perfect for a couple's getaway. Lots of wineries and shops.
The amenities were great and the price reasonable. We will stay here again.

Needed to get out of town to relax, and this was just perfect. Took my book and my puppy and spent hours in the beautiful shady lawn reading. Town was literally a street away and it was so fun to walk up and down the main drag of Murphys each day for coffee, shopping, and wine tasting. Can’t say enough nice things it was such a lovely visit and a lovely perfect house.

This was an amazing location to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Total privacy. 200 yards to Main Street. Quiet. Idyllic. Treetop haven. Fresh flowers and well-decorated. This retreat lives up to its reputation with aplomb. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay! Quiet, secluded back of property cottage only a couple blocks walk to downtown. Cottage was well equipped, well stocked, clean, and met all of our needs. Definitely recommend!

My husband and I absolutely loved this place. It's a cute little cottage with lots of privacy. It's located a block off main street, so we were able to walk downtown and enjoy great food and wine - and then stumble back! You do have to walk several hundred feet from the street to the cottage, so unloading a vehicle could be challenging for those with mobility limitations. My husband and I didn't mind because we need the exercise. We were allowed to bring our dog and he had just as much fun as we did. Most of Murphys is dog friendly, so it worked out great. All in all a great little vacation. We would highly recommend this place and plan on returning someday!

Wonderful location just a block off the main action. Wonderful deck. Only funky thing was parking. A bit tight on the side of the road. But even at that was so nice to just leave the car parked and walk to everything.

35yr Anniversary Stay
Great location and quiet neighborhood. Its a little trek up to the house and a few stairs, i was glad i brought a wagon to carry our things which wouldn't be an issue for a young couple. Only thing i would have changed was the lighting in the bathroom, not enough at night.
