Situated in Broughton-in-Furness, this attractive cottage for $88 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Situated at the end of a quiet lane, Lowfield is a self-contained holiday apartment furnished in contemporary style while retaining traditional features. Conveniently located in one of the Lake District's most attractive market towns, the accommodation enjoys a sunny aspect with rural views. Ideal for couples wishing to relax in peace and comfort yet only a few minutes walk from the fine pubs and shops of Broughton-in-Furness. The accommodation is situated all on one level on the ground floor of a larger residence. Its own entrance door opens onto an open plan living room with dining area and kitchenette. Plan each day's trips in the cosy sitting area with its 42" wall-mounted TV, Bluetooth speaker, hi-fi, electric log-fire effect stove and original wooden beams (6' 3" clearance). Luxuriate in the bathroom with its quadrant shower, bath and underfloor heating and then enjoy the comfortable double bedroom with its wooden beams and bedside shelves and wall lighting. Breakfast items (bread, cereals, milk, tea, coffee) are provided. Ideal holiday base : Only a few minutes walk from Broughton's popular pubs and quality shops, yet with open views across fields to the Duddon Estuary, Lowfield offers contemporary style accommodation with traditional features. If you are keen to discover a more tranquil area of the Lake District but don't want to drive miles for a good meal out, then Lowfield is the answer. Please be aware that Lowfield is situated at the end of a narrow lane which is not suitable for large vehicles such as mobile homes or vans. Smoking is not permitted either in the accommodation or outside area. No pets.

Parking and access is tight if youre in a 4x4 like we were but its achievable!

We had a great few days staying in the Lakes during February half term. Annette and her husband were so welcoming and made us feel right at home.
The property had everything we needed and the milk/fresh bread/cereal was a lovely touch.
Broughton is an excellent location for walks of all length and difficulty, with some lovely pubs. We had a fab meal in the Old King’s Head in the town.
Would recommend to anyone after a quiet getaway in a lovely part of the Lakes.

Annette was a great host, making sure that everything was tickety boo. A lovely little home from home. We cooked most nights and the kitchen was well stocked with equipment and it all worked! Annette provides leaflets showing good local walks from the village or a short drive away, whilst also it is not a long drive from here to the more central areas of the Lake District.

If you wish to be off the beaten track, then this is the place for you. Far enough away from the main tourist attractions, but easily reachable by car. Plenty of lovely walks in the vicinity of the property. Broughton in Furness, is indeed a picturesque little village. With just enough amenities to keep you going. A pleasant stay, would definitely repeat.

Lovely location
Great for getting around the Lakes. It was really nice of the family to let us eat our dinner out in their garden to make the most of the sunshine. Quiet, clean, cute resident cats.

A beautiful little place for a short stay in the Lakes
We had a lovely time spending 5 days in Broughton in Furness. Our hosts Annette and Andrew were incredibly welcoming and we really enjoyed getting to know them - they shared some great tips for places to visit. We spent each day hiking, wild swimming or climbing and found the little cottage a perfect base to come back to each evening. The cottage was well appointed with everything we needed and it was also nice to have a few pubs in walking distance for dinner if we didn't fancy cooking. Absolutely stunning surroundings as well. A beautiful, tranquil little escape.

Arrived at the premises after a very long journey with a uncomfortable approach from the owner, we just wanted to settle first and embrace the area. But instead felt antagonised to park my car which the description does say not suitable for vans but also felt not suitable for SUV the parking yes is outside the house but we did not realise how close to the front door the owner wanted me to park which made sitting outside especially for breakfast disappointing with a view of the bonnet of my car (literally). The area itself is beautiful and easy access to the village pre warned the day your arriving if you want to eat out book a day in advance to the pubs if not your lucky on a Friday a food van in the square. The home itself was standard and clean with all the essentials needed but the sofa could have been larger for two people and not sitting on top of each other. Overall the area its self is lovely and a simple home. Also the husband is very kind and approachable and would feel to seek him more for information or problems.
After our journey home I received an impropriet email from the owner saying and I quote “Thank you for leaving the accommodation so nicely which is appreciated. However two hand towels are missing so please post these back ASAP to me”
I felt this very upsetting being judge straight away that me and my friend had taken the towels instead of asking kindly if we had accidentally collected them with our possessions or if we even had them which overall we did not !
On our next journey we will look to find another location.

Lovely property, just a few minutes walk into the small town
Super little property adjoining the owners' house. Well equipped kitchenette so self-catering is not a problem and also within 5 minutes pleasant walk into the small town with two pubs serving food, a butchers and a baker. Comfy bed and nice hot shower. The bedroom has a closed door interconnecting the property to the owners's house which didn't hinder our privacy.
Lovely quiet location, convenient driving distance for the southern lakes. Access is down a very narrow lane which is made easier with a smaller car. Very helpful owners and no hesitation in recommending Lowfield.

Prior to stay, Annette gave us information on local pubs so we could make reservations, which was really useful during these strange times. The cottage was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay
If you’re planning a trip around the Lake District and need a base this is a great to stay. The check in process was clear, easy and the property was well maintained. Annette is a great host and the property is situated in a beautiful spot. Can highly recommend.

A lovely stay
We had a lovely stay at Lowfield Cottage. Annette and her husband were so friendly and welcoming. The cottage was very well equipped with anything you might need. They have thought of everything and made the cottage so cozy.

Lovely peaceful location
We stayed for a week, the cottage is very well equipped and in a lovely quiet location. 5 min walk to 3 good pubs, 2 of which did good food. Good location to get put and about. Recommend the small train from Ravenglass!

Extremely enjoyable experience
Great experience for a couple looking to get away in a quiet area, whilst not too far from some of the main attractions of Lake District. We went past Windermere on one occasion which was heaving with people in certain areas so this is a perfect location for anybody wanting a quiet relaxing stay.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay and my wife and I would certainly consider returning here in the future!
