About this house rental

Located in Cape Tribulation, this lovely house for $226 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Our unique house in the heart of Cape Tribulation, world heritage Daintree Rainforest & Great barrier reef. The house is set on 5 acres of rainforest, walking or push bike distance to the beach, freshwater creeks, bars, restaurants, tour adventures & local supermarket. Great for families, artists & a very comfortable fantastic house for friends to getaway. Space The House is a hand-built yurt design with octagon panelling and light-filled high ceiling interior dome. Built from a range of timbers, Silky Oak, Oregon & Pine featuring a spiral dome ceiling with skylight. The house is a solar-powered eco-home, with back up generator. The Bed Rooms The large loft bedroom sits over the living area. This room has a queen bed and two single beds that double as luxury day beds. This room is great for kids or singles to share or very comfortable for a couple. The second bedroom we call the green room. It features floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the rainforest close enough to touch the treetops. This room has a queen bed. All rooms have fans, sheets, pillows, blankets. The cosy enclosed living room is open plan with a neat well-equipped kitchen. The interior living area has comfortable couches and bean bags with games & library and a surround sound entertainment centre with blue tooth connectivity. Double glass wood frame doors lead out to a vast covered verandah living area with a long dining table and plenty of relaxation space for lounging in bean bags and hammocks. Every outlook has stunning views overlooking the rainforest. The bathroom has a bath and shower in one. Things to note: The house is in an area that is totally off the grid. The power is supplied by solar power with back up fuel generator and water is from a boar pumped to the house from holding tanks. We will make sure your power and water are sufficient for your stay but please be aware and use power & water wisely. Telephone & internet access: The Daintree is in a very remote part of the world where mobile phone and Internet access is very limited. The last point of mobile phone reception is at the Daintree ferry crossing; then you may get reception at high points on the range. The house has a landline for making local calls. We do have Internet access at the house via satellite; please note it is not the best and can get interrupted with dropouts due to weather etc. The access codes are at the house in the handbook. We ask that it is used for checking email only, we do not have enough for downloading. Getting to the house Cape Tribulation is 155 kilometres and about 2 hours and 15 mins North driving from the Cairns international airport. Car hire is available at the airport, then head north following the well-signed scenic road with possible stops in Port Douglas and Mossman town to the Daintree car ferry cost is AUD 30 return for visitors. We recommend a stop for supplies at Smithfield shopping centre just 15 min North of the airport, although there is a great local IGA in Cape Tribulation. Mossman is the last township on the way up. It has chemist and the Woolworths on the highway through is the last large supermarket and bottle shop before the National park. Once in Cape Tribulation leave the car, the house has heaps of parking space then enjoy the environment by cycling or walking. Perfect location. Close to everything but you feel totally secluded as well! The wide deck with hammock was our favourite place to chill.

Wow! What an amazing place!!! We loved the peace of being in the rainforest! The porch and hammock were great to play games and relax/listen to the rain. Cape Tribulation is off grid and a unique experience that our family enjoyed! Thank you for sharing your holiday house!

Unique house in the rain forest
Unique house in the rain forest
It was a clean and comfortable house and close to the beach and restaurants. The design of the house is very unique and it has a large deck area. The hammock on the deck was a big hit for our kids. The house has no aircon, so it gets quite hot during the day. Another thing is we didn’t have power on our last day, so we had no fans etc. But overall we recommend this house to stay.
