Located in Lake Glenville, this lovely cabin for $246 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Mom's Place is a cozy mountain cottage that sits high on a mountain top, nestled at the end of a 2-mile dirt road in the middle of the woods with no neighbors in sight, yet it's just minutes from Cashiers, Highlands, and Sapphire, with easy access to the lake shore. The large deck overlooks one of the best views Lake Glenville has to offer. Relax in comfortable deck chairs or under the deck umbrella with a drink, steaks on the grill, and enjoy the most spectacular sunset you've ever seen. Mom's Place is an eclectic rustic/contemporary retreat, recently refurbished, with a low rental rate and lots of room for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. With new carpet, new wood floors and freshly painted, Mom's Place is decorated with cozy leather furniture, old tools, rustic design features and modern touches. All beds are specially made with fluffy pillows, top of the line linens and plush down comforters for the best nights sleep amidst the sounds of the crickets and cool mountain temperatures. The brand new kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need. The brand new main bathroom is bright, roomy and airy with gorgeous tile bathtub/shower combination, upgraded fixtures and soft, fluffy towels and bath robes. You'll love Mom's Place....hidden in the woods, perched above the lake, with no other houses nearby, creating a private oasis of solitude and an atmosphere for total relaxation!! Recent updates were just made to Mom's Place and include a gorgeous new main bathroom and kitchen, new decor and furniture too!! And a brand new large deck overlooking the lake with unobstructed wide views!! The house is fully stocked with all linens, pots/pans, plates/glasses, cups, silverware....everything!! A large huge flat screen smart TV is a recent addition with a knockout Direct TV channel package, Netflix, and Amazon access. Full WiFi throughout the house for your wireless needs, for all computers and devices. All bedrooms have new smart TVs. A land line phone is there for emergencies and in case power goes off. The deck has recently been re-railed with gorgeous cable features so that views are even more unobstructed and spectacular. Mom's Place is LAKE VIEW ONLY. There is no walking access to the lake from the house. Everywhere you walk and drive around Mom's Place is a gorgeous lake view but to access the lake, you will need to take a short drive to any of the several very nice public beaches, campgrounds, or marinas. We LOVED staying at Mom's Place. Lisa this owner was so helpful and always at reach. The view was a grand slam! We basically sat on the deck for the most of the time, watching the boats..taking in the colorful trees. We drove around the area for a little while. But since We've been coming to Highlands for decades ..we just wanted to stay put ..be comfy and enjoy the view...and this was the best trip...the accommodations..HIT time for leaf peepers, weather...all wonderful. This cabin had the perfect view of most of the lake..not just a small portion or cut de sac. Next time I want to check in about renting a boat and take a ride around the lake! 10/10 experience!

Wife and I were on NC Blue Ridge Parkway road trip and wanted to stop and relax a few days in the middle of the trip. We thought we would want the big Mountain View’s but really you see this all along the Blue Ridge Parkway at each overlook stop. So we opted for the lake view. mom’s Place did not disappoint. The lake seems to offer so many emotions through the day. Mornings start with misty fog rolling closer then clears as the days begin. Evenings show different shades on distant mountains as the sun sets. The remoteness provides the real ambience that you are actually alone in the forest to enjoy the view. The nearby trees give the feeling you are in a treehouse. Acorns actually fall on the deck. We used the BBQ each night, played board games and just enjoyed being alone. Our Facebook post responses appear to indicate that we are returning with lots of friends. This is a family lake home that has been passed down through generations and it was an honor to be a guest there. Thanks Lisa!

Mom’s Place was as described. Very peaceful!! The views are spectacular morning, afternoon and especially at sunset. Lisa was prompt addressing our issues with the Direct TV and offered fabulous advice on hiking, shopping and restaurants! Lisa went above and beyond to make feel like family!

The house was exactly as advertised however the view of the lake was beyond what the photos show! We enjoyed countless hours on the deck enjoying the view. The house is rustic, quiet, and had everything we needed. The host was very communicative and addressed any questions or items timely.

We loved our week at Mom’s Place. As others have noted, the view from the deck is the highlight. But the house itself is comfortable and clean and everything worked perfectly. My wife and I were there with our daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. It was a magical week, thanks to the beautiful weather and Ma’s Place. An added bonus was being able to meet Lisa at the annual fall festival in Cashiers. She is an attractive and delightful young lady and helped to add a personal touch to our week. Thank you, Lisa. We highly recommend this VRBO to anyone who likes the peace and quiet in nature with an incredible view and is willing to drive a short distance on a gravel road to get there.

A great place to relax with a million dollar view! The cabin is at the end of a gravel road, perched on a mountainside. We loved the quiet and seclusion. Lisa went above and beyond in hosting during a rainy Labor Day weekend. Even when it rained, we loved watching the changing weather on the lake. We spent as much time as we could on the deck, including eating our meals there. It was also fun to learn the history behind this quaint cabin Lisa's grandfather built. Definitely one of a kind! Amazing stay in the mountains
This is one of the cutest cottages in the Glenville area! The property is very simple however the views are beyond breathtaking! The owner was super sweet and very informative on the property and area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to get back next summer!

Great place for a quite get away
This property was exactly what we needed for a quite family get away over Thanksgiving. The owner was very helpful and we enjoyed quiet nights by the fire and the great local activities in town and in nearby state parks. Highly recommended.

Great stay in the woods of North Carolina
Rustic, cozy home/cabin tucked into the hillside/mountain looking over Lake Glenville. It was a great stay and the views of the lake from the deck are a great way to wake up. There were five of us and a couple of small dogs. It was perfect for a getaway in the mountains. The driving on the mountain roads did not bother us but if you are unfamiliar/dislike driving on dirt/gravel roads to get to the home it may not be to your liking or stay lower down on the side of the mountain.
The host ensured we had everything we needed and wass easily accessible via phone or text.
Cashiers is just down the mountain and accessible in 10-15 min car ride. There are numerous hikes, waterfalls, and leisurely walks in the woods anywhere b/n 15 minutes and 45 minutes away. The town of Highlands is about 20 minutes away. We were not lacking for a place to go on walks in brisk fall weather.
Overall, we could not have asked for a better way to spend a secluded Thanksgiving with easy access to the outdoors!

Cozy cabin with beautiful view
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the lake. We did a lot of eating in and the kitchen is well equipped.

Rustic Updated Cabin with Incredible View
The Property Owner Lisa provided us with true Southern Hospitality (Done remotely). We were given a great deal of information about Things to Do in the area along with detailed information about the cabin and it's location. From the outside the cabin is rustic but Lisa has done many upgrades to the kitchen, bathrooms, etc.
By far the best feature of the property is the Picture Perfect View!! We could sit out on the deck for hours. Although we enjoy going out to dinner we decided to Cook In most evenings just so we could take in the late afternoon and Sunset Views!

Gem on Lake Glenville
What a treasure this cabin is! Perched on the mountainside with a breathtaking view of the lake - from the deck, living room, dining room and upstairs bedroom. We also liked that the cabin is set off by itself, so it was quiet and private. Property owner/manager Lisa provided us with a ton of awesome information on local restaurants, hikes and attractions. We found her recommendations to be very reliable! And since the cabin in only 10-15 minutes from Cashiers, it offers the best of both worlds. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Lisa, the owner, had great directions. We stayed a week. Total relax. Nice to enjoy some sweatshirt weather in June. My wife never left the cabin except to walk the dogs.
