Extremely disappointing

The view from the terrace, but absolutely no more than that.

Everything except the view from the terrace. The accessibility of the house is a challenge and the GPS coördinates are inaccurate. The smell in the house was damp like a moist cellar. In fact there are three main problems in this house, one of them is ventilation (and you do not want to leave the windows in the house open because of the multitude of lizzards present on the outside), the other problem is the fact that this "villa" needs a major cleaning up (live spiders in the closet just above the drinking glasses is extremely disgusting, just to give one example), and a third problem is that important amenities such as dryer and freezer are present but they don't work. The first night, probably as a consequence of the disfunctional dryer we slept in damp sheets. Also no ice cubes for any drinks. Internet was only possible in the living room near the TV that had no cable. According to the person letting us into the house also a bbq was not available. Luckily we found a way around this problem, but again unacceptable because, according to the description on Booking.com a bbq is available. We actually have pictures of mold in the main bathroom and in the refrigerator. Furthermore the place was designed for 8 persons but on the terrace there is only seating place for 2 to 4 persons.

Casa do Ferreiro and Pico are worth a journey

Excellent architecture, great views, great location, quietness, natural surrounding, excellently equipped for cooking, taste ful dishes, books for reading, immediate assistance, when needed. We always felt home, when we returned from an excursion. Sao Roque offers good food shopping. The location is excellent to explore the entire island.

The internet reception needs to be upgraded especially once more than two people are in the house. This is a local problem, not house-specific. There should be an instruction in the house that the de-humidifier needs to run in all rooms to fight the extreme Azoren climate (and how to program it). Would be great to have additional small table(s) on the deck, when vacationing with a family.
