I spent a week staying here, and from the instant I arrived I was made to feel like I was in my own home. Octavio gave consistently valuable local insights on when and where to go in CDMX, including a vast knowledge on food, museums and tourist sights. Without him my trip would have been quite different, and I'm sure far worse! And what really makes this place special is the breakfasts. Every morning, everyone who was staying got together to enjoy beautiful home cooked food in a relaxed environment. Consistently delicious, and you never leave hungry! The location is also fantastic - Roma Norte and Arena Mexico on the doorstep and very close to the metro. Can't recommend this place enough.
For my personal needs, this was the perfect place to stay.

Octavio is a great host. He is very attentive with his guests and was extremely helpful and patient with my particular special needs. He really went out of his way to accomodate me. His guests learn a lot about Mexican culture and customs as he prepares breakfast for them. It's a friendly, fun place to stay. I will definitely stay with Alma Roma again. The neighborhood is interesting with many restaurants, cafes and events. Saludos desde Scotland!

This is like being at home..super relaxed, casual, FRIENDLY and warm! not fancy...down home comfort. We were sent WhatsApp messages constantly to give us ideas on what to do in the city and were greeted when we arrived back to ask how it all went. Our suitcases were carried up and down. No mean feat as there are STAIRS to the third floor. The seven eleven is right outside the door and we were in the heart of Roma. I actually booked a carotid ultrasound and it was a short walk away. We had a great time.
The second bathroom is a little tight...BUT there is another one, so no worries. We never had to wait for a bathroom. The one bedroom, the one we had, faces the street so was noisy but we were given ear plugs and that totally helped.

It is a new listing a some kinks need to be worked out (see below). The proprietor was helpful in some regards and made sure that i can easily and inexpensively reach the place and provided good explanation on how to unlock the place and get to the unit (a room) in the apartment with other guests.
There was no breakfast to speak of. When I asked for eggs that were sitting in the fridge I was told "no". The description of the place does not mention that it is a fourth floor walk up, which may present problems for some guests. I had to wait for 20 mins for someone to open the front door to the building since the numbered lock was not accessible to my average height. The price was excessive for this place.
