Het waren de beste 2 dagen ( van de 21) van ons verblijf in Novo Scotia !

De hartelijkheid van de eigenaar en zijn vrouw, het voelde als thuiskomen bij vrienden. De eigenaresse is geboren Nederlandse, dus het uitwisselen van informatie en ophalen van oude herinneringen waren voor ons erg gezellig en informatief. De echtgenoot bleek een voormalige chefkok, die een heerlijk ontbijt serveerde met o.a. eigen gemaakte scones, diverse soorten luxe brood en gepocheerde eieren. We kregen goede informatie ( gedocumenteerd ) wat we in de omgeving zouden kunnen doen en daar hebben we ook profijt van gehad, tevens kregen we info over evt te bezoeken restaurants in het stadje. Toen we s'avonds van ons diner in het dorp thuis kwamen, werden we nog uitgenodigd om thee/koffie te komen drinken met eigen gemaakt gebak. Als we tijd hadden gehad waren we hier langer gebleven.

A bit tired, but trying so hard

Private home with warm breakfast was delightful. Bob was previously chef, so food was very good.

The decor was charming but dated and a bit tired., as were the hosts. Nothing has been updated decor wise since the early 90's, and while I'm sure was all the rage then, is just a bit shabby now. They are still trying very hard. to continue their beloved retirement career, but had difficulty operating the booking system thru your website and the payment system with poor Internet service. Reminded me of my parents, and I'm 67, so....they aren't young. Looks as tho the house was for sale.

One of the best stays and food I had have in a bit.

The owner was so welcoming to us. He even came out to great us. I was so surprised and loved it. I felt like I was at home. I didn’t think I would like a bed and breakfast but after this stay I am now a bed and breakfast person for sure. They even let us use their bbq, had fresh corn for us and made a wonderful cake to enjoy.

That our 3 days went by fast.

Very friendly hosts-outstanding property and view.

Beautiful home and impressive landscape. Breakfast was a delicious, homemade (chef-made) baked apple (from the property) pancake. The bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve enjoyed on the entire trip.

It was the perfect place to start our East coast vacation. Bob and Maria were excellent hosts.

Breakfast was lovely. We were there 4 days and it was always different and exceptional. A power outage did not even stop our host from preparing a hot breakfast. The location was perfect for our touring of the area and the view from our room was outstanding.

No negative comments at all.

Enjoyed a peaceful 5 night stay

A charming home with charming hosts. We had the blue room with private bath, very spacious and convenient. The bed was huge and very comfy. Check in was smooth and Maria gave us pamphlets and information on the Digby area. We were offered tea or coffee on request at any time during the day. Chef Bob hosts and serves incredible breakfasts! His cinnamon apple crepes were divine! The location is is less than a mile from the ferry, another convenience. TV is in the communal living room and WIFI connection was stellar.

Overall, a much better choice than many motels.

Excellent homemade breakfast. Crepes one day, omelette the next. Homemade baked goods. Comfortable bed. We were fortunate to have other guests who were interesting and friendly breakfast companions. Loved that it had private bathrooms.

Needs a bit of TLC here and there. The decor is “cliche” B&B. Not horrendous but not to my taste. A few too many Knick knacks. Not necessarily bad. One of the other guests was envious of the decor. Different people, different tastes.

We had a very nice over night stay and would do it again. The host made us feel very welcome .

The breakfast was very good and well prepared. The location was vary good but could not see much of the water. It was very relaxing and quiet for a good nights rest.

It would have been nice to have a tv in the room and wifi , also a bar fridge which would have completed the overnight stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here, it was the best accommodation I've had in 2 weeks of travel.

Breakfast exceeded expectations. (host is a chef); Wonderful, friendly hosts; Very quiet location; Beautiful garden; Large rooms, charmingly furnished and decorated; Spotlessly clean.

Be careful if you are on a motorcycle. Driveway approach is quite steep and gravelly.

We would DEFINITELY return, and wish we had booked for more than one night!!!

The host and hostess were warm, welcoming, and truly interested in engaging in conversation on a variety of topics. The room was inviting, with many details not found in other B&B's we've stayed ie homemade quilts, tasteful ornaments, and unique pictures adorning the walls. The room was large, plenty of windows for a light and an airy atmosphere. The bathroom was the same tasteful decor. The morning breakfast was delicious! Homemade scones, crepes and 3 types of preserves, and fruit, and fresh coffee. Lovely!!

Disappointed after all.

Sitting with other guests during the breakfast. Breakfast was tasteful. Place is very clean.

FAKE Photo of location it's long way from this place on Booking - lack of view on sea. Lack of AC unit and painting in our room was in a bad contion.

Superb

It's quite closer to the ferry dock. The room style looks quite classic. I like the house environment with a beautiful garden and sea sightseeing. Particularly, the host served us with a gorgeous breakfast just as in a big hotel.

If an airconditioner was installed, it would be more comfortable in summer.

Business wise, the hosts were not great but hospitality wise (breakfast/info), they were wonderful

The breakfast was amazing.

The room had a musty smell but otherwise was clean. Somehow they were double booked in the room we reserved. They put us in another room and made us pay extra.

My Trip at Oceanhillside Hotel

I love the decor and antique furniture, and the room is very gorgeous. I love the ocean and my room was facing the ocean, breathtaking to see the sunrise. Great hospitality. Breakfast was great. It's a hideaway from the noise where I live. The owners Bob and Maria are great hosts. I would go there again.

Nice place, kind owners, worth the money.

The breakfast is excellent. The owner happens to be a chef and the breakfast is amazing.

The bed is, at least to me, not very comfortable.

Superb

Very lovely place. The breakfast was delicious and the host was very nice and helpful. We had a beautiful room but was disappointed there was no air conditioning and one of the windows had no screen so was propped open only a tiny bit.

The breakfast is great but we were annoyed with no TV and the additional charge.

The view from the patio outside of our room was excellent. We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The location was very good for the activities we had planned for that area. If was very quiet and relaxing in the evening.

The first issue occurred on check-in. The price of the room we had booked was increased by $10 per night (the booking price currently on Booking.com is the same as our booking. NO UPDATE). The description of the room implies that there is a TV in the room. THERE IS NOT. There is a common area with an archaic small TV (17" screen, a guess). The outside appearance of the property is very nice, however, the room was quite dated.
