The cost of the hotel is to high for the services provided

not a whole lot, did not meet my expectiations

The information at Booking was incomplete, the Gym and Spa was not available at the location, food was not great and quality of the drinks very poor the amount paid per day

Rocky and Narrow Beach, and a Short New Year Party Without Fireworks and Snacks

The interior of the hotel is really nice, and the food was excellent with a wide variety of choices. We also enjoyed live music during the New Year party. We liked the large size of the balcony and the sea view from it.

The check-in process was very lengthy, and we waited for our room for more than an hour. We managed to get it only after 4 pm, even though the official check-in time was declared as 3 pm. There were no fireworks at the New Year's Party, and the party itself finished at 1 am. Additionally, after dinner at 7 pm, there were no snacks available except alcohol. We had aimed to celebrate New Year's and had specifically booked that hotel for it and were very dissapointed. The beach is very narrow and small, with sunbeds placed tightly and at uncomfortable angles. The entire beach is rocky, making it dangerous to enter the sea due to the uneven terrain. Additionally, there are no piers for boats, which are available for different water sports, posing a real danger during disembarking and embarking. The swimming pool is small, and the water in it is very cold. Some of the staff are not friendly. We had an issue with the air conditioner, which was leaking, and some of our belongings got wet as a result. They worked on fixing it for the whole day but eventually managed to resolve the problem.

La cucina è internazionale e per noi Italiani un po’ difficile da accettare , ma tutto sommato chiedendo qualche variante sono stai molto bravi ad esaudire le nostre richieste .

Bewary of 1 night stays at the hotel

I was moved to another hotel at last minute, which they said was due to engineering fault but honestly more seemed they overbooked the hofel on New Year's Eve.

Don't Go to Waves

Water taxi. To go to the other hotels. To eat and beach Management was very professional at Waves!!

Employees appear to be very unhappy and mean. They only catered to the whites. BREAKFAST LUNCH DINNER HORRIBLE. I NEED a refund

Friendly and efficient service from restaurant and front desk staff. Good quality food and drink, housekeeping decorated the bedroom for Valentines day which was a nice touch.

Booked last minute to attend a funeral. Room 510 is advertised as having a balcony and being over the spa. What it doesn't say is that the only view from the balcony is of the roof of the foyer and restaurant. It didn't bother us as we were out for 2 of the 3 days we stayed but wouldn't have been happy otherwise. Would think that it should be a courtesy room.

Mostly Good

The lay out of the hotel is beautiful with the view of the sea dominating . Mostly the food was of high standard and the spa treatments were amazing. We had an ocean view room which was incredible.

At times the hotel felt over crowded meaning limited sun beds and delays at reception. My expectation was for a very high standard of service given the price but that was , at times , a little hit and miss . I think that Barbados is an extremely expensive Island so much of the price is accounted for with food and drink rather than high end service .

Amazing trip and would definitely return!

it was a very well organised hotel, the staff were absolutely amazing, so helpful and friendly! The free water sports were great fun and always available.

There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the property but if I have to say one thing, perhaps a gift shop on the premises would’ve been nice.

Superb

The staff was fantastic - super friendly and genuine! The food was good (not excellent or high-end, but tasty and good quality). Beach, pool, and landscaping were nice. Access to water sports was free, and fun. Overall, very good experience.

Our room was a bit dated. The room and room amenities felt 3 star (maybe 3.5 star), but definitely not 4 or 5 star. The rest of the property, however, was very nice (solid 4 star).

Main building roght on the beach. Staff super nice

I did not know we would be across the street when booking. They have 2 sructures. The main building and the one across the street. Had i known i was across the busy street i would not have booked here. It was nice but we wanted to be in the building that i looked at when i booked. I think that when they tell you the room is in the spa pool area, it makes you think it is not facing the beach but still in the same tructure you are looking at when booking. I feel that that is not honest. I think people should have an informed choice. The staff was so kind and great. That part was famtastic. :)

The Waves resort was still up to our par, just some TLC can be needed for the rooms

The food was very delicious. We wish there were multiple options. The water sports were very fun.

The rooms had little details of needing some upkeeping. Sink was missing the plug/drain cover, shower knobs had been measured poorly.

had a great 8 nights at waves, would stay again if returned to that area of Barbados

hotel right on beach location was fantastic, great views from a beach view room, not so good if overlooking the road but you pay for the view. Staff were all amazing and always helpful and cheerful. All meals were very nice

the outside of the property didn't look too great but once inside it was lovely, would have been nice to have a bar on the adults only side, however staff did come round regular and were very attentive

Lovely location but evening atmosphere let the stag down.

- Lovely rooms - Sea was amazing - Nice food - Great drinks selection - Nice spa area

- Despite 80% of the staff being really nice, there were 20% that really dampened the stay. These staff tended to be the ones behind the bar, who didn't make you feel welcome, or like ordering another drink. - The evening entertainment was awful. The entertainers/singers really didn't fit the mood. I doubt many people going to Barbados want power ballads badly sang at 9pm. - The evening as a whole was really poor. The lights in the main area are far too bright so don't make you want to stay. Unlike the rest of the Elegant hotels on the island, there's only one bar which is inside. The layout of the main room created no atmosphere. The outside decking is lovely but no atmosphere at all due to no bar or music. The evening at Waves meant you were in bed by 9:30pm - Beach area was pretty crowded

Lovely hotel. Not as good as it used to be.

Comfortable rooms. lovely spa treatments. Majority if staff are kind and friendly. lovely setting on the beach.

If has changed since it changed to Marriott. there isn’t enough entertainment so evening are very quiet and boring. drinks are not good quality. cheap and unheard of brands.

Great hotel and staff, let down by poor management when something went horribly wrong.

Great location and generally very attentive service (exceptions below). Water sports options used extensively, and the water taxi is a fantastic way to see the coast and partner hotels. The room and its cleanliness were brilliant.

Two of our daughters caught salmonella (confirmed by UK GP on arrival home) from food in the Asian restaurant - we could easily isolate the timing as they were ill immediately after the meal and had the same thing to eat. They were very ill from the second week of our stay until well after we got home. Having taken self-remedies whilst in the hotel, and then visited the doctor once we returned, we then advised the hotel of what had been diagnosed; one daughter works in the NHS and clearly couldn't return to work. It is approaching 3 months since we had our holiday, and despite repeated efforts in contacting the hotel management, we have no information or formal response. They say they need permission to release details of the tests they have apparently carried out, but it seems they are just ignoring us and hoping the matter will go away, despite us advising that Public Health England and the NHS wish to know the details. Now there is not even the courtesy of a reply to any contact. This is such a shame after a great start to the holiday at a great hotel. Other than rude staff in the cafe bar, and also failure at the top of the management structure, the rest of the team were a great credit to the business. On every other measure we would return, but the management have let their team down badly! We await any form of response.
