Another tranquil escape to West Bay

The grounds get more lovely every time we visit. Celeste and her staff welcome you as if you are family. Short 2 minute walk to beautiful West Bay beach, which is always very busy. The lodge feels like an oasis of tranquility amidst the busy beach happenings.

Air conditioner in one room was a bit loud, but the other one was completely silent.

The people there made the difference between an average stay and a wonderful stay!

The staff could not have been nicer to us. They were so friendly and accommodating from check-in to the restaurant. Melanie in particular was so kind and helpful.

Nothing I didn’t like but I always enjoy a view of the water.

Superb

Friendly small business, has a real "mom and pop shop" feel, but in paradise! Firstly, and most important to me, it was literally just a five-minute walk to the best snorkeling of my life (I've been to Belize, Bonaire, Cuba and Mexico). Just to the beach is about a two-minute walk. The pool was perfect for the kids, the rooms were clean and well-appointed, the beds were comfy. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pets on site were much appreciated by the kids, and honestly by me too! On site restaurant is under new management, and so far they're doing great too, our breakfasts there were delicious and filling. I highly recommend staying here, especially if some members of your party want to do something other than snorkel. But it would be fine for all-day snorkeling too.

Great stay for the price!

The staff was EXCELLENT! Great customer service and very friendly. I felt like I made new friends. All the ladies made me feel very welcomed! Good service is hard to find and keep, and they were very kind and helpful.

Best hidden secret as it was said online.

Love the animals and nature aspect of the location. Down the street from the beach and good places to go eat. Enjoyed the staff who were very friendly and breakfast was good. Enjoyed the banana bread very much.

Everything was good that it was hard to find something not to like.

Great place for a family vacation

The condo was amazing, very comfortable and clean, and had everything you needed inside. Location was great, very close to the beach, many restaurants and bars.

i will never stay here again, and do not suggest anyone else to until this lady makes some very well needed changes.

the breakfast was awful! Their breakfast is a table that had a bag of bread with a toaster that did not toast, a keurig and coffee maker. A pint of milk for the coffee which sat on that table in this hot heat. then you would sit at a table an someone will come take your order but all they have is pineapple waffles (disgusting) and scrambled eggs with half cooked potatoes. There was a lizard in my room and mosquitos (which big me while I slept). Now this! the day we checked in, it was arranged that we had to leave at 12pm the next day to catch the 2pm ferry. We were told a driver would be ready to take us. the driver was not there so the girl in the office said she would take us. they charged $30 (USD) to take us as if the $150 hotel stay for a dingy hotel wasn’t enough. the Pool was also dirty and this place has so many animals I couldn’t even walk around in peace without seeing a cat. I’m allergic to them btw. they were all in the dining area where people eat and just walking around everywhere. I would never stay again. let’s not even mention the bathroom (which they keep the door open) right in front of the dining area full of flies!

Did not sleep with an infected flees room

When entering breakfast there was a table and staff did not mention anything about 2 options of breakfast until I made coffe and toasted bread with jelly.

Very comfortable stay at the West Bay Lodge.

Rooms (I stayed in two) were well appointed, spacious, clean and comfortable; plenty of hot water; owner and staff were friendly and helpful; breakfast was delicious, as were the two dinners we ate there; pool and surrounding plantings were lovely (I didn't swim); Proximity to beach was pretty good (it was quiet, but a short walk to the ocean); I loved the animals! Wonderful airport pickup/dropoff service. We were there for a week and took advantage of an amazing spa deal they offered us.

Wifi was a little spotty at night. It rained heavily while we were there (obviously not the hotel's fault), but after that, there was a bit of a sewage smell near the entrance for about 24 hours. The staff worked to clear it up as much as they could.

Horrible!

The cats!

Old & Run Down! When you walk through the property the first thing that hits you is the smell of strong sewer. Shower water had sewer odor and left a sewer smell on our skin, disgusting! Next, BUGS millipedes crawling on the ground at night, told the manager about it, fumigated, but this wasn’t the proper way to kill them, if they sprayed around doors windows this would have taken care of it, bugs were back strong as ever. Our trip was ruined because of this, how they received the Travelers Choice Reward I’ll never know?

great stay and we would definitely go back

Fantastic location in the center of West Bay and an easy walk to the beach or the taco shop across the street. My kids loved the animals on the property and the suite was a perfect set up for our family of 4. The staff were very nice and welcoming.

If you go in December, the pool will be very cold. It was not swimmable for the adults - my kids got in.

Lovely beach getaway

I loved the location! A quick few minute walk to the beautiful beach. Lorelie from the staff was so kind and helpful. She mentioned I could rent snorkel gear from the hotel and snorkel myself from the shore. It was a great experience! She also picked me up from the airport and dropped me off to the ferry. She is very friendly and kind! Overall, the lodge is beautiful. Full of greenery and hammocks for leisure. I would love to come back!

My stay was great.

Breakfast was delicious, enough of everything. Location was even better as of the noisy section of town and close enough to the beach. I would go back again and recommended to friends and family. Most of all, Melanie made us feel like family, the warmth of the place is priceless.

It seemed like it was short staffed; however, we did not wait too long for anything.

Property needs lots of help and they need to clean it up

Nothing to like. I arrived late at night. I was given the keys and showed where my room was. Went to dinner at the restaurant in the facility. Very expensive and poor food quality. Got lost as the property is poorly lighten. There wasn't anyone to help. Made it to my room and a cat jumped inside and didn't want to leave. Left the day after.

Property area, facilities, hygiene and poor service. It was a bad experience and waste of money and time

Lovely time, the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool!

The welcome drink was great, location was fantastic, and the staff were super helpful

There was a bit of an unpleasant smell around the entrance to our lodge, but it wasn’t noticeable inside. The wifi up in the lodge was not working all of the time, but the main wifi was okay.

Lovely, lovely lovely and unexpectedly delightful hidden gem of a small, quaint, quiet resort.

We LOVE the bungalows here and would definately recommend staying here. If we ever return this is the place we're staying! Just a few minutes walk to the beach, but if you don't make it there, there's always their pool to relax by. The staff and crew were absolutely lovely. Melony even prepared a lovely Rum Punch for us to take to the beach. It all was so lovely.

Exceptionally pleasant and friendly staff. Rooms have great linens and towels, ample hot water and drinking water. Air Conditioning comes included in price which is nice (expected) for US citizens IMO. Satellite TV worked well, and shampoo/conditioner/body wash all in room and resupplied

All lovely -- enjoyed the special personal touches. : ) Animals around the property a nice, homey touch IMO A card or a sign with their names would be icing

We have stayed at West Bay Lodge twice. Not the fanciest place, but good value, & good people.

a couple of choices every morning. We always ordered what ever is local

There was a business next door that played loud music at night, but the owner of West bay said they had been contacted and were moving..It was against business regulations on what they were doing. Hope it gets better in the future.

Budget friendly hotel in West Bay Area

The location was perfect! It's right on the West Bay road, just a 5 min walk from West Bay beach area, where you'll find all the beachfront bars, restaurants, fancy hotels... This is a budget friendly hotel, so if you don't mind staying in a non beachfront hotel, and want to save some money, this is a great option. The cabins are very spacious and comfortable. The staff was helpful and kind. There's a nice garden area surrounding the cabins, where you'll find sitting areas and a pool.

There was a very nice garden area, which included a pool and sitting area, but when we arrived everything was very dirty, leaves everywhere, glasses and ash trays laying around, probably from previous day.

My favorite place to stay in Roatan!!! Absolutely LOVE IT 💕

Due to COVID-19 staff isn't cleaning daily, but it was a great stay otherwise. Just make sure to speak to Melony if you need anything and she'll make it happen!

Vintage boutique hotel— very personalized stay. Everything was super clean, food great, and fantastic people.

Landscaping and pool design, not a cookie cutter location. Close enough to the beach without beachfront prices. The Restuarant was excellent as well.

Beds could be softer for my taste, and more variety of pillows.

Celeste and the staff are great. Go there!

We loved these cabins. They were great. Staff was great. Hope to go back soon. This is a great location to explore Roatan from. Exactly across the street from the Bananarama Beach - the best area on Roatan. About 1000 ft walk.

Internet didn't reach to our cabin which was very close to the office. Had to leave room and go to bar, pool or restaurant for internet signal.
