Nestled in Johns Island, this attractive cottage for $170 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Come enjoy some peace and quiet in this private, simple (yet comfortable) cottage located under the Oak trees of Johns Island. 20 minutes from Downtown Charleston, Folly Beach, and Kiawah. Enjoy a fire in the fire pit, heat up the grill for some fresh seafood or take a hot shower under the stars! (Just to be clear, there is also a very nice interior shower!) The Sleepy Shack is private, comfortable, and clean! The studio apartment is ideal for two tenants. Three can easily fit in this 500 square foot cabin if one person doesn't mind the sleeping on the couch. The rear porch is private and guests have their own separate outdoor area with a fire bowl and grill. The Sleepy Shack is within walking distance to Low Tide Brewery and a very close drive to other various dining options. Catch a movie at the Terrace Theater or enjoy some live music at The Pour House (within 5 miles). Come explore Johns Island - The Vineyard, Sweet Water Distillery, the Tea Plantation, Angel Oak, the Johns Island Farmers Market. Johns Island is also ideal for those who wish to enjoy distance biking through the oak trees, rivers and marshes of this rural (yet convenient) area. The wide, quiet beaches of Kiawah are just a scenic drive down the way. Or hop over to neighboring James Island to enjoy the fun and sun of Folly Beach. Check out the fishing and surfing at the pier, or relax in the tidal pools, or shop and dine on the main drag. Grab some fresh Seafood from Crosby's or Huff's and bring it back to cook on the grill! James Island County park is about 7 minutes from the cottage and offers scenic bike and walking trails as well as climbing wall and other great opportunities for fun with the kids! 20 minutes from the heart of Downtown Charleston! Knock the sand off your flip flops and head downtown where you can enjoy extensive history, culture and (definitely) food options! A beautiful place the visit - there are Harbor Tours, Carriage Rides, Ghost Tours, The Market, Water Front Park, Marion Square and an unending assortment of dining options to explore!

It's in a quiet neighborhood and is secluded at the back of the owner's property. The furnishings are comfortable and the coffee maker was a life saver for us! I really loved the outdoor space with the fire pit. We were there over Thanksgiving so we enjoyed seeing our family during the day and being able to escape to our own space for the night. 10 thumbs up!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Sleepy Shack. Cava, the host came out to greet us as we drove up and showed us inside. She recommended things to see and do in the area and places to eat. While we were away she texted that she had left extra kindling to build a fire in the fire pit. The shack was nice and cozy with a great outdoor area. We did enjoy a nice fire in the firepit! It was a great get away and we hope to visit again when in the area!!

The cozy shack is exactly as it states and appears, the host is super sweet. I was in town for a wedding so didn’t spend much time at the house but I am so very glad I chose this location. Easy to get to and close to anything needed. Will definitely book again if I am back in the area.

It is amazing what the owner has done with this place and how it feels so secluded. It is very well maintained. Great back patio and fire pit. We went fossil hunting and fishing. This place was perfectly located for activities in Charleston. Hope to return soon.

Sleep shack was just that...quite place for a rest and launch to visit Charleston and the surrounding area. Well stocked kitchenette served our minimalist breakfast and dinner needs. This place is on the back of Kava's property but felt private surrounded by bamboo. We ate outside a couple times. Would recommend for couples who want a launch point to go out and see the area. Several restaurants and grocery stores nearby and not far from Angel Tree, Tea Tour, etc.

Our stay at the Sleepy Shack was an awesome experience!! Beautiful little place that was decorated very nicely! Very comfortable and private. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was right in the middle of everything we wanted to go see and do!! Would highly recommend!!

Adorable spot for 2 people to nestle away for a few nights. Perfect owners to deal with. All amenities needed and the fire pit was perfect each night with a glass of wine. It has history and is an absolute perfect place. Highly recommend and we will be back. 10 star from us!!!

This little cottage was perfect for my wife & I. We would stay here again if we come back this way. It was quiet and easy access. 1 thing they could add is a longer shower curtain since water did splash all over the floor by the sink & toilet. Made it a little hazardous if we didn’t put towels down.

We stayed here while in town for a wedding in Kiawah. It was about 20 minutes to all the events. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. Very cute spot. Perfect for 2 people, 3 would be pushing it. The AC was cold and it was quiet. WiFi worked great. Solid choice for an affordable crash pad.

My daughter, myself and a friend came down for a weekend girls trip for a wedding on Folly Beach. The sleepy shack was absolutely perfect for everything we needed! From relaxing with a morning cup of coffee on the back patio to a peaceful sleep on the most comfy bed, we had a great time! It was clean, spacious for our party of 3 and Cava greeted us and gave us well wishes as we were leaving. She also kept in close contact before we arrived just so we’d have everything we needed. I definitely recommend this property and we will be visiting again!
